Επιστροφή στο σχολείο
Οι διακοπές των Χριστουγέννων τελείωσαν και επιστρέψαμε ξανά στο σχολείο. Αυτές οι διακοπές φάνηκαν πιο μεγάλες, εξαιτίας της καραντίνας, που προηγήθηκε.
Τα μαθήματα συνεχίζονται τώρα πια κανονικά, μέσα στη σχολική τάξη και όχι διαδικτυακά.
Ευτυχώς για όλους μας, η εκπαίδευση και η μάθηση προϋποθέτουν τη διδασκαλία ζωντανά, με τη φυσική παρουσία του δασκάλου με τους μαθητές του.
Η εκπαίδευση από απόσταση, υστερεί κατά πολύ και δυσκολεύει ιδιαίτερα τους μικρούς μαθητές, κυρίως του δημοτικού και του νηπιαγωγείου.
Γέμισε πάλι το σχολείο με παιδικές φωνές, οι τάξεις βρήκαν ξανά λόγo ύπαρξης, οι μαθητές με τους εκπαιδευτικούς συνέχισαν τα μαθήματά τους και όλα βρήκαν τον καθημερινό τους ρυθμό.
Όταν περπατάω σε άδειους δρόμους, σκέφτομαι ότι ο κόσμος θα σταματήσει να υπάρχει, όταν δεν θα υπάρχουν πια παιδιά. Τα παιδιά είναι ζωή και με τις φωνές τους, τα παιχνίδια και τα γέλια τους, μας δίνουν δύναμη και ενέργεια για να συνεχίσουμε να ζούμε. Τα παιδιά δεν σε αφήνουν να παραιτηθείς, ούτε να τα παρατήσεις. Είναι πηγή ζωής, χαράς και δημιουργίας.
Το πρωί που μπήκα στο γραφείο των δασκάλων, η δασκάλα των Εικαστικών πρόσεξε τη μάσκα που φορούσα.
_ Για να σε δω! Είναι Βαν Γκογκ; με ρώτησε.
_ Ναι, της απάντησα. Χάρηκα που το πρόσεξες, της χαμογέλασα.
_ Από πού την πήρες;
Αφού την ενημέρωσα, της είπα ότι ήμουν πολύ χαρούμενη που αναγνώρισε το σχέδιο του Βαν Γκογκ με τα ηλιοτρόπια.
Τότε εκείνη με ρώτησε γελαστά:
_ Σου έφτιαξα τη μέρα;
_ Ευτυχώς, της απάντησα, υπάρχει ελπίδα!
Όταν αργότερα μπήκε στην τάξη μου για να κάνει μάθημα, είπε στα παιδιά:
_ Θυμάστε που είχαμε μιλήσει για έναν ζωγράφο που ζωγράφιζε ηλιοτρόπια; Κάποιος εδώ μέσα φοράει μία τέτοια μάσκα, αλλά όχι εγώ.
Όλοι κοιτάχτηκαν μεταξύ τους, μία μαθήτρια σήκωσε το χέρι της για να απαντήσει και ένας μαθητής πετάχτηκε:
_ Η κυρία!
_ Πώς τον έλεγαν τον ζωγράφο, θυμάστε;
_ Βίνσεντ Βαν Γκογκ, απάντησε μία άλλη μαθήτρια.
_ Μπράβο, που το θυμάσαι! της είπε η δασκάλα των Εικαστικών.
_Τώρα χαίρομαι διπλά, απάντησα στη συνάδελφό μου. Σήμερα τελικά μού έφτιαξες τη μέρα μου!

Η γειτονιά της Πλάκας, κάτω από την Ακρόπολη
Το αγαπημένο μου μέρος για να περπατήσω, να πιω έναν καφέ και να συναντήσω μία φίλη μου, είναι η περιοχή της Πλάκας, κάτω από την Ακρόπολη.
Αυτή η γειτονιά, είναι πολύ παλιά, όπως και οι δρόμοι της, που έχουν μεγάλη και σπουδαία ιστορία, από τα αρχαία χρόνια.
Το μέρος αυτό, το επισκέφθηκα πρώτη φορά, όταν ήμουνα μαθήτρια, στη Β΄ λυκείου. Η φιλόλογός μας και ο καθηγητής μας της χημείας, που αγαπούσε ιδιαίτερα τη λογοτεχνία, είχαν κανονίσει με τη λυκειάρχισσα του σχολείου μας και μαζί με δύο τμήματα της Β΄ λυκείου, μάς συνόδευσαν για να πάμε βόλτα στα σοκάκια της Πλάκας.
Αυτή τη μέρα δεν θα την ξεχάσω ποτέ. Από τότε, συνηθίζω να πηγαίνω στην Πλάκα, τουλάχιστον μία φορά το μήνα, ενώ υπήρξαν κάποια χρόνια, που πήγαινα τουλάχιστον μία φορά την εβδομάδα, για να πιω τον καφέ μου. Έπαιρνα το περιοδικό μου και απολάμβανα την ηρεμία και την ομορφιά της παραδοσιακής αυτής γειτονιάς, που θυμίζει νησί, αν και βρίσκεται μέσα στην Αθήνα.
Το μέρος αυτό έχει μία θετική ενέργεια, μία δύναμη, μία αναζωογονητική αύρα, που σε βοηθάει να συνεχίσεις με καινούριες δυνάμεις τη ζωή σου, μέχρι να κουραστείς και να το ξαναεπισκεφθείς. Λίγο πιο πάνω είναι και τα Αναφιώτικα, τα σπίτια που έχουν χτιστεί με νησιώτικο στυλ, από εργάτες της Ανάφης, που εγκαταστάθηκαν τον 19ο αιώνα στην περιοχή.
Η ομορφιά και η επιβλητικότητα της Ακρόπολης, φαίνονται από ψηλά, καθώς σηκώνεις το βλέμμα σου προς τον ουρανό. Η περιοχή της Πλάκας, λόγω της θέσης και της ιστορίας της, έχει πάρα πολλούς τουρίστες, όλο τον χρόνο, αλλά περισσότερους το καλοκαίρι. Εκεί τριγύρω υπάρχουν και πολλά τουριστικά μαγαζιά για αναμνηστικά, αλλά και για πιο χρηστικά καθημερινά αντικείμενα, πολλά μικρά και ευχάριστα καφέ, ταβέρνες, εστιατόρια και θέατρα. Από τα στενά της δρομάκια, μπορείς να ανέβεις μέχρι την Ακρόπολη ή να καταλήξεις στο εκκλησάκι του Αγίου Δημητρίου του Λουμπαρδιάρη και στον λόφο του Φιλοπάππου.
Η γειτονιά της Πλάκας, βρίσκεται πολύ κοντά στο κέντρο της Αθήνας και αποτελεί ένα ιδανικό μέρος για περίπατο, διασκέδαση και ψυχαγωγία. Τα παραδοσιακά της σπίτια, σε συνδυασμό με τα αρχαία της μνημεία, τα στενά σοκάκια και οι πέτρινοι δρόμοι, σε μεταφέρουν σε μία άλλη εποχή, σου μεταδίδουν ηρεμία, χαρά και γαλήνη και σε ξεκουράζουν από την ένταση και τον ρυθμό της καθημερινής ζωής.

The neighborhood of Plaka, below the Acropolis
My favorite place to walk, have a cup of coffee and meet a friend of mine, is the area of Plaka, below the Acropolis. This neighborhood is very old, just like its streets, which have a long and great history, from ancient times.
I visited this place for the first time, when I was a student, in the second year of high school. Our philologist and our professor of chemistry , who loved literature very much, had arranged with the high school principal of our school and together with two departments of the second year of high school, they accompanied us for a walk in the alleys of Plaka.
I will never forget this day. Since then, I usually go to Plaka, at least once a month, while there have been some years that I went at least once a week to drink my coffee. I was taking my magazine and I was enjoying the tranquility and beauty of this traditional neighborhood, which resembles an island, although it is located in Athens.
This place has a positive energy, a power, a refreshing aura, which helps you to continue your life with new strength, until you get tired and visit it again. A little higher are Anafiotika, the houses that have been built in island style, by workers of Anafi, who settled in the 19th century in the area.
The beauty and majesty of the Acropolis are seen from above, as you look up at the sky. The area of Plaka, due to its location and history, has a lot of tourists, all year round, but more in the summer. There are many tourist shops around for souvenirs, but also for more useful everyday objects, many small and pleasant cafes, taverns, restaurants and theaters. From its narrow streets, you can go up to the Acropolis or end up in the chapel of Saint Dimitrios of Lumbardiaris and in the hill of Philopappos.
The neighborhood of Plaka is located very close to the center of Athens and is an ideal place for walking, fun and entertainment. Its traditional houses, in combination with its ancient monuments, narrow alleys and stone roads, take you to another era, transmit you peace, joy and serenity and relax you from the intensity and rhythm of everyday life.

Il quartiere di Plaka, sotto l’ Acropoli
Il mio posto preferito per passeggiare, prendere un caffè ed incontrare unα miα amicα, è la zona di Plaka, sotto l’ Acropoli. Questo quartiere è molto antico, così come le sue strade, che hanno una lunga e grande storia, fin dai tempi antichi.
Ho visitato questo posto per la prima volta, quando ero una studentessa, al secondo anno del liceo. Il nostro filologo e il nostro professore di chimica, che amava moltissimo la letteratura, si erano accordati con il preside della nostra scuola ed insieme a due dipartimenti del secondo anno del liceo, ci accompagnarono a fare una passeggiata per i vicoli di Plaka.
Non dimenticherò mai questo giorno. Da allora, di solito vado a Plaka, almeno una volta al mese, mentre ci sono stati alcuni anni che andavo almeno una volta alla settimana a bere il mio caffè. Prendevo la mia rivista e ho apprezzato la tranquillità e la bellezza di questo quartiere tradizionale, che ricorda un’ isola, sebbene si trovi ad Atene.
Questo posto ha un’ energia positiva, un potere, un’ aura rinfrescante, che ti aiuta a continuare la tua vita con nuova forza, finché non ti stanchi e visiti di nuovo. Un po’ più in alto si trovano Anafiotika, le case che sono state costruite in stile isolano, dai lavoratori di Anafi, che si stabilirono nella zona nel diciannovesimo secolo.
La bellezza e la maestosità dell’ Acropoli si vedono dall’ alto, mentre guardi il cielo. La regione di Plaka, a causa della sua posizione e della sua storia, ha molti turisti, tutto l’ anno, ma più in estate. Ci sono molti negozi turistici in giro per i souvenir, ma anche per oggetti di uso quotidiano più utili, tanti piccoli e piacevoli caffè, taverne, ristoranti e teatri. Dalle sue stradine si può salire all’ Acropoli o raggiungere la cappella di Saint Dimitrios di Lumbardiaris e la collina di Philopappos.
Il quartiere di Plaka si trova molto vicino al centro di Atene ed è un luogo ideale per passeggiate, divertimento e intrattenimento. Le sue case tradizionali, in combinazione con i suoi monumenti antichi, i vicoli stretti e le strade di pietra, ti portano in un’ altra epoca, ti trasmettono pace, gioia e serenità e ti rilassano dall’ intensità e dal ritmo della vita quotidiana.

Χειμερινοί κολυμβητές
Αγαπάω τη θάλασσα από τότε που ήμουνα
παιδί. Την προτιμώ από το βουνό, χειμώνα και καλοκαίρι. Τις καλοκαιρινές μου
διακοπές, δεν μπορώ να τις φανταστώ μακριά από τη θάλασσα. Παρόλαυτα, νομίζω
πως δεν θα μπορούσα ποτέ να κολυμπήσω στα κρύα της νερά, τον χειμώνα.
Οι κάτοικοι των περιοχών της παραλιακής λεωφόρου στην Αθήνα, αυτοί που ζουν
στον Άλιμο, στη Γλυφάδα, στο Νέο Φάληρο, στη Βουλιαγμένη, είναι οι περισσότεροι
χειμερινοί κολυμβητές. Όποτε και να περάσεις από εκεί το χειμώνα, πάντα θα δεις
κάποιους να κολυμπάνε ή να κάνουν ηλιοθεραπεία. Για εκείνους, μόλις βγει ο
ήλιος, είναι καλοκαίρι, ακόμα και αν έξω από το νερό η θερμοκρασία είναι μόνο πέντε
βαθμοί. Γενικότερα, έχω παρατηρήσει, ότι όσοι ζουν σε αυτές τις περιοχές της
Αττικής, κοντά στη θάλασσα, ασχολούνται καθημερινά με τον αθλητισμό, όχι
αναγκαστικά, αλλά ως τρόπο ζωής.
Όσες φορές πήγα εκεί με τον άντρα μου ή μαζί με την κόρη μας, για να πιούμε
έναν καφέ, να περπατήσουμε ή για να κάνει η κόρη μας ποδήλατο, όταν ήταν μικρή,
τους έβλεπα όλους να φοράνε αθλητικά ρούχα και παπούτσια, να τρέχουν με τα
γουόκμαν στα αυτιά ή να κολυμπάνε στη θάλασσα. Έμοιαζαν σαν να ζούσαν σε άλλη
χώρα, ή να μην έχουν σχέση με εμάς τους υπόλοιπους που ζούσαμε στο κέντρο της
πόλης. Τους θαύμαζα και απορούσα, πού έβρισκαν τη διάθεση να γυμνάζονται και
μετά σκεφτόμουνα ότι εγώ είχα πολύ καιρό
να γυμναστώ, έστω και για λίγο.
Αντίθετα, έχω παρατηρήσει και ακούσει από τους ανθρώπους που ζουν σε
παραθαλάσσια μέρη, μακριά από την Αττική, ή στα νησιά, ακόμα και το καλοκαίρι,
να μην πηγαίνουν για μπάνιο γιατί λένε ότι, όποτε θέλουν μπορούν να δουν τη
θάλασσα, την έχουν συνηθίσει ή την έχουν βαρεθεί.
Αυτό πάλι δεν το καταλαβαίνω καθόλου και ούτε μου αρέσει να το ακούω. Τότε σκέφτομαι, ότι εγώ είμαι σε
πολύ καλύτερη θέση, αφού, ενώ μένω στην Αθήνα, το καλοκαίρι κάνω τις διακοπές
μου και τα μπάνια μου και παράλληλα δεν βαριέμαι τη θάλασσα. Ούτε θέλω ποτέ να
τη συνηθίσω τόσο πολύ, ώστε να μου είναι αρκετό να την βλέπω μόνο από μακριά.
Όσοι είναι χειμερινοί κολυμβητές, υποστηρίζουν πως δεν αρρωσταίνουν ποτέ, ενώ
παράλληλα διατηρούνται σε πολύ καλή φυσική κατάσταση. Το κρύο το συνηθίζουν
στην αρχή σιγά σιγά, αφού δεν σταματάνε ποτέ τα μπάνια και μετά δεν τους ενοχλεί.
Πολύ θα ήθελα να συνέβαινε αυτό και σε εμένα, αλλά δεν γίνεται. Αντί γι’ αυτό,
έχω συμβιβαστεί το χειμώνα με το κολυμβητήριο, αλλά με θερμαινόμενη και κλειστή
πισίνα.
Η ομορφιά της θάλασσας όμως, δεν συγκρίνεται με καμία πισίνα και είναι τυχεροί
εκείνοι που μπορούν να την απολαμβάνουν κολυμπώντας, το χειμώνα ή το καλοκαίρι ή
ακόμα καλύτερα, όλο τον χρόνο.

The kite flying
The custom of Clean Monday includes kite flying.
It symbolizes the desire of man himself to fly, to reach heaven, close to God.
When we were children, this day was very important and there was specific
preparation for the construction of the kite. Then, most of the boys were
making their own kite. They were taking thin wood from carpenters or reeds, those
who were living in the village, colored papers from the neighborhood
convenience store, string, newspapers and streamers for the kite tail.
So my brother, every year he made, not just one, but at least two kites, so that
if one was falling, he was flying the other. After he was tying the wood, which
had to be light, so that the kite could easily fly, and was making the frame,
he was gluing the colored papers and then had to make the scales. It was taking
a lot of attention to make the scales, because if they weren’t right, the kite
would fly wrong and fall. And of course in the end there was the tail, which had
to be long, to go high, but not heavy, because it could not fly.
After that, what was bothering us is whether it would be good weather,
whether it was raining or whether it was blowing a lot. The ideal conditions
for flying a kite are to have sunshine, but at the same time a light breeze
that will easily lift the kite in the air, will take it high and will not risk
falling.
In the beginning one had to hold up the kite, with both hands, and with the
first blow of the air, he was letting it go and the other was pulling it to climb
up. As soon as the kite was gaining height, the well-known phrase was heard: «Unwrap
the string!», in order for the kite to go higher and farther.
Everyone was trying to fly their kite higher than the others and overtake them.
Many times it got confused with others and eventually fell or became entangled
in the wires of electricity. If it was somewhere close, you could pick it up,
repair it, and fly it away again. Sometimes, however, it was falling to a very
distant place and then you were losing it both from your eyes and from your
hands.
When my brother had managed to fly his kite, he usually tied it up somewhere
and let it fly until nightfall. Then, he was cutting the string and was letting
it go satisfied, since next year he would make another one. Some children, who were
living in the countryside or were going to open parts of the city, were
continuing to fly their kite, like a game, all year round when the weather was
appropriate for that.
It is very nice to see high, the sunny sky, full of colorful and different
kites and below, low, the happy children’s faces, but also adults’, who help
and participate in their joy and games!

Il volo dell’ aquilone
La tradizione del primo giorno di
Quaresima include il volo dell’ aquiline. Simboleggia il desiderio dell’ uomo
stesso di volare, di raggiungere il cielo, vicino a Dio.
Quando eravamo bambini, questa giornata era molto importante e c’ era una
preparazione specifica per la costruzione dell’ aquilone. Allora, la maggior
parte dei ragazzi creava il proprio aquilone. Coloro che vivevano nel villaggio
prendevano legno sottile da falegnami o canne, quelli che vivevano nel
villaggio, carte colorate dal minimarket del quartiere, spago, giornali e stelle
filanti per la coda dell’ aquilone.
Quindi mio fratello ha fatto ogni anno, non solo uno, ma almeno due aquiloni,
in modo che se uno cadeva, faceva volare l’ altro. Dopo aver legato il legno,
che doveva essere leggero, in modo che l’ aquilone potesse facilmente volare, e
fatto la cornice, incollava le carte colorate e poi doveva fare le bilance. Ci
è voluta molta attenzione per fare le bilance, perché se non fossero state
corrette, l’ aquilone sarebbe volato male e sarebbe caduto. Ed ovviamente alla
fine c’ era la coda, che doveva essere lunga, per andare alto, ma non pesante,
perché non poteva volare.
Poi, ciò che ci preoccupava era se sarebbe stato bel tempo, se pioveva o se
soffiava molto. Le condizioni ideali per far volare un aquilone sono di avere
il sole, ma allo stesso tempo una leggera brezza che solleverà facilmente l’ aquilone
in aria, lo porterà in alto e non rischierà di cadere.
All’ inizio si doveva tenere l’ aquilone alto, con entrambe le mani, e con il primo soffio di vento lo si lasciava
andare e l’ altro lo tirava a salire in alto.
Non appena l’ aquilone raggiunse
l’ altezza, si udì la famosa frase: “Molla lo spago!” in modo che l’ aquilone
andasse più in alto e più lontano.
Tutti cercavano di far volare il loro aquilone più in alto degli altri e di
sorpassarli. Molte volte si è confuso con gli altri e alla fine è caduto o è
rimasto impigliato nei fili dell’ elettricità. Se fosse nelle vicinanze,
potresti raccoglierlo, ripararlo e far volarlo di nuovo. A volte, però, cadeva
in posti molto lontani e poi l’ hai perso tanto dai tuoi occhi quanto dalle tue
mani.
Quando mio fratello riusciva a far volare il suo aquilone, di solito lo legava
da qualche parte e lo lasciava volare, fino al tramonto. Poi tagliava lo spago
e lo lasciava andare soddisfatto, visto che l’ anno prossimo ne avrebbe fatto
un altro.
Alcuni bambini, che vivevano in campagna o andavano in zone aperte della città,
continuavano a far volare il loro aquilone, come un giocο, tutto l’ anno quando il tempo era adatto per questo.
È molto bello vedere in alto, il cielo soleggiato, pieno di aquiloni colorati e
diversi e giù, in basso, i volti felici dei bambini, ma anche degli adulti, che
aiutano e partecipano alla loro gioia e al loro gioco!

Πάμε για καφέ;
Μία πρόταση – πρόσκληση πολύ αγαπητή στους περισσότερους Έλληνες, όλο τον χρόνο, χειμώνα καλοκαίρι: ‘Πάμε για καφέ;’
Η Ελλάδα είναι η χώρα του φωτός και του ήλιου και εμείς οι Έλληνες δεν χάνουμε την ευκαιρία να απολαύσουμε την ομορφιά και την ευτυχία που μας προσφέρει ο υπέροχος καιρός στην πατρίδα μας.
Μία έξοδος από το σπίτι για να πιεις καφέ με τους φίλους σου ή τον φίλο/ την φίλη σου, σημαίνει και μία δυνατότητα να επικοινωνήσεις μαζί του/ της, να πεις τα νέα σου, να μάθεις τα δικά του/ της, να σχολιάσεις, να σκεφτείς, να εκφράσεις τα συναισθήματά σου, τους φόβους σου, τις επιθυμίες σου, να γελάσεις, να κλάψεις, να πάρεις αποφάσεις. Η έξοδος για καφέ με κάποιο αγαπημένο σου πρόσωπο, είναι ένα είδος ψυχοθεραπείας, είναι μία συνήθεια που σου δίνει δύναμη, χαρά και ενέργεια, για να συνεχίσεις την καθημερινότητά σου.
Υπάρχουν όμως και φορές που θέλεις να απολαύσεις τον καφέ σου μόνος σου, με τις σκέψεις σου, να δώσεις χώρο και χρόνο στον εαυτό σου, να ηρεμήσεις και να σταματήσεις να μιλάς, απλώς να στέκεσαι παρατηρητής της ζωής σου και του κόσμου γύρω σου.
Τα πιθανά και ιδανικά μέρη για καφέ είναι πολλά και μπορείς, εύκολα και χωρίς πολύ κόπο, να τα επισκεφτείς. Οι περισσότεροι προτιμούν τις καφετέριες ή τα μικρά καφέ κοντά στον τόπο της κατοικίας τους, στη γειτονιά τους, στην πλατεία της περιοχής τους, εκεί που μαζεύεται πολύς κόσμος. Όμως μπορείς να μετακινηθείς με το αυτοκίνητό σου, το μηχανάκι σου ή καλύτερα με το μετρό, στο κέντρο της Αθήνας και να κάτσεις για να πιεις τον καφέ σου στην Πλάκα, στο Θησείο, στο Μοναστηράκι ή στο Σύνταγμα.
Αν δεν σου αρέσει το κέντρο της πόλης και έχεις όρεξη και μεταφορικό μέσο για να κινηθείς, μπορείς να απολαύσεις τον καφέ σου, σε μια όμορφη κοντινή παραλία της Αθήνας, στον Πειραιά, στη Μαρίνα Ζέας, στο Μικρολίμανο, στο Φάληρο, στη Γλυφάδα, στη Βουλιαγμένη, στη Βάρκιζα. Η θέα της θάλασσας και η ηρεμία που αποπνέει, σε αποζημιώνουν για την όποια ταλαιπωρία πέρασες, μέχρι να φτάσεις στον προορισμό σου.
Φαίνεται ότι οι κάτοικοι των μεγαλουπόλεων, έχουμε πιο πολύ ανάγκη να βγαίνουμε έξω, για να πούμε τα νέα μας, πίνοντας έναν καφέ, και το θεωρούμε κάτι αναμενόμενο και φυσιολογικό, σε σχέση με όσους μένουν στα προάστια, στα χωριά και γενικότερα σε μέρη πιο απομακρυσμένα από την πόλη.
Εκεί οι άνθρωποι δεν βγαίνουν πολύ και συχνά, ίσως γιατί είναι απασχολημένοι με τις δουλειές τους ή πάλι έχουν συνηθίσει τη θέα και την ομορφιά της φύσης γύρω τους, ώστε δεν τους δημιουργείται η ανάγκη να βγουν έξω από το σπίτι τους για να πιουν καφέ. Άλλωστε, μπορούν να απολαμβάνουν τον καφέ τους με τους γείτονες, τους συγγενείς ή τους φίλους τους, στην αυλή του σπιτιού τους.
Φυσικά, ο πιο κατάλληλος χρόνος για να πας για καφέ είναι το Σαββατοκύριακο, όλες τις ώρες, από το πρωί μέχρι το βράδυ, χωρίς περιορισμό.

It seems that we, the inhabitants of big cities, have more need to go out, to tell our news, drinking a coffee, and we consider it something expected and normal, compared to those who live in the suburbs, villages and generally in more remote places from the city.
People there, do not go out often , perhaps because they are busy with their work or on the other hand, they have become accustomed to the view and the beauty of nature around them, so that they do not need to go out of their house to drink coffee. After all, they can enjoy their coffee with neighbors, relatives or friends, in their yard of their house.

Αndiamo a prendere un caffè?
Un suggerimento - invito molto caro alla maggior parte dei greci, tutto l’ anno, inverno ed estate: ‘Andiamo a prendere un caffè?’ La Grecia è il paese della luce e del sole e noi greci non perdiamo l’ occasione di goderci la bellezza e la felicità che il clima meraviglioso ci offre nella nostra patria.
Un’ uscita dalla casa per bere un caffè con i tuoi amici o con il tuo amico/ la tua amica significa anche un’ opportunità per comunicare con lui / lei, per raccontare le tue notizie, per imparare le sue, per commentare, per pensare, per esprimere i tuoi sentimenti, le tue paure, i tuoi desideri, per ridere, per piangere, per prendere decisioni.
Uscire a prendere un caffè con una persona cara è una sorta di psicoterapia, è un’ abitudine che ti dà forza, gioia ed energia per continuare la tua vita quotidiana.
Ma ci sono momenti in cui vuoi goderti il tuo caffè da solo, con i tuoi pensieri, per dare spazio e tempo a te stesso, per calmarti e smettere di parlare, solo per stare come un osservatore della tua vita e del mondo che ti circonda. I luoghi possibili ed ideali per il caffè sono molti e puoi, facilmente e senza troppa fatica, visitarli.
La maggior parte delle persone preferisce caffè o piccoli caffè vicino al proprio luogo di residenza, nel proprio quartiere, nella piazza della propria zona, dove si riuniscono molte persone. Ma puoi muoverti con la tua macchina, la tua moto o meglio con la metro, nel centro di Atene e sederti a bere il tuo caffè a Plaka, a Thiseio, a Monastiraki o a Syntagma.
Se non ti piace il centro della città e hai l’ umore ed i mezzi di trasporto per muoverti, puoi goderti il tuo caffè, in una bellissima spiaggia vicina di Atene, al Pireo, a Marina Zeas, a Mikrolimano, a Faliro, a Glyfada, a Sunken, a Varkiza.
La vista del mare e la calma che si respira, compensano per qualsiasi inconveniente che hai passato a raggiungere la sua destinazione.
Sembra che noi, gli abitanti delle grandi città abbiamo più bisogno di uscire, di raccontare le nostre notizie, bevendo un caffè, e lo consideriamo qualcosa di previsto e normale, rispetto a chi vive in periferia, nei villaggi e generalmente in luoghi più lontani dalla città.
Lì le persone non escono spesso, forse perché sono impegnate con il loro lavoro o dall’ altra parte, sono abituate al panorama ed alla bellezza della natura che le circonda, quindi non hanno bisogno di uscire di casa per bere un caffè. Inoltre, possono godersi il loro caffè con i vicini, i parenti o gli amici, nel loro cortile.
Certo, il momento migliore per andare a prendere un caffè è il fine settimana, a tutte le ore, dalla mattina alla sera, senza restrizioni.
Allora, che ne dicete, andiamo a prendere un caffè?

Όποιος έχει τελειώσει το σχολείο στην Ελλάδα, έχει βιώσει, όχι μόνο ο ίδιος, αλλά και η οικογένειά του, το θεσμό των πανελληνίων εξετάσεων. Ακόμα και αυτοί που δεν έδωσαν εξετάσεις, έχουν επηρεαστεί σε κάποιο βαθμό, έστω και έμμεσα, από την ατμόσφαιρα των εξετάσεων.
Από τις πρώτες τάξεις του δημοτικού σχολείου, το όνειρο του κάθε μαθητή, αλλά και των γονιών του, είναι να μεγαλώσει και να περάσει στο Πανεπιστήμιο. Το ελληνικό σχολείο, είναι πράγματι κατά τέτοιο τρόπο δομημένο, ώστε η εισαγωγή του μαθητή στο Πανεπιστήμιο ή στο Πολυτεχνείο να αποτελεί μονόδρομο, καθώς δεν υπάρχουν αντίστοιχες αναγνωρισμένες σχολές τεχνικής εκπαίδευσης σε διάφορους τομείς, όπου θα μπορούσαν οι μαθητές να φοιτήσουν και να έχουν ένα πτυχίο που θα τους εξασφαλίζει επαγγελματική αποκατάσταση.
Με αυτόν τον τρόπο, οι Έλληνες μαθητές αγχώνονται και αγωνιούν κάθε καλοκαίρι για τις εξετάσεις που θα τους εξασφαλίσουν τον τίτλο του φοιτητή ή της φοιτήτριας, για να ανταμειφθούν οι κόποι τους αλλά και των γονιών τους, που έχουν πληρώσει, τουλάχιστον για τα τρία χρόνια του λυκείου, ένα σωρό λεφτά στα φροντιστήρια. Γιατί χωρίς το φροντιστήριο, κανείς δεν καταφέρνει να περάσει στο Πανεπιστήμιο ή στο Πολυτεχνείο, εκτός ίσως πολύ λίγων εξαιρέσεων.
Εκείνο όμως που πρέπει να πούμε στα παιδιά, για να μην απογοητευτούν, αν δεν τα καταφέρουν, είναι πως η ζωή και η πρόοδος τους ή πολύ περισσότερο η ευτυχία τους, δεν καθορίζονται από τις πανελλήνιες εξετάσεις. Οι ευκαιρίες για να μάθουμε πράγματα, να αποκτήσουμε γνώσεις, να αλλάξουμε επάγγελμα, υπάρχουν σε όλη μας τη ζωή. Ειδικά στην εποχή μας, η γνώση δεν σταματάει ποτέ και είμαστε αναγκασμένοι να μαθαίνουμε διαρκώς καινούρια πράγματα. Επίσης, στη ζωή μας πρέπει να έχουμε επιλογές και να μην εγκλωβιζόμαστε σε μία κατάσταση του τύπου: αυτό ή τίποτα. Ένας νέος άνθρωπος που ξεκινά τη ζωή του και κάθε επιλογή είναι δυνατή, δεν πρέπει να στερεί από τον εαυτό του την ευκαιρία και το δικαίωμα να επιλέγει και να αλλάζει γνώμη για το επάγγελμα που θα ακολουθήσει, όταν για κάποιο λόγο, δεν καταφέρνει να κάνει αυτό που αρχικά είχε σκεφτεί.
Στη ζωή υπάρχουν πολλές ευκαιρίες, όχι μόνο μία, πολλές δυνατότητες και αρκετές επιλογές, αν έχουμε τη διάθεση και τη θέληση να ψάξουμε αυτό που μας ταιριάζει και να το αποκτήσουμε. Είναι πολύ μεγάλο κρίμα, τα νέα παιδιά, που έχουν όλη τη ζωή μπροστά τους, να εγκλωβίζονται στο δίλημμα: Πανεπιστήμιο ή τίποτα. Εξάλλου στη ζωή μας δίνουμε κάθε μέρα εξετάσεις με τη συμπεριφορά και τις επιλογές μας και αυτό δεν σταματάει ποτέ.
Panhellenic Examinations
Anyone who has finished school in Greece has experienced, not only himself, but also his family, the institution of Panhellenic examinations. Even those who did not take the exam have been influenced to some degree, even indirectly, by the exam atmosphere.
From the first grades of primary school, the dream of every student, but also of his parents, is to grow up and go to University. The Greek school is indeed structured in such a way that the admission of the student to the University or the Polytechnic is a one-way street, as there are no corresponding recognized schools of technical education in various fields, where students could study and have a degree that will provide them with vocational rehabilitation.
In this way, Greek students are anxious and agonizing every summer for the exams that will secure them the title of student, to reward their efforts and those of their parents, who have paid, for at least three years of high school, a lot of money in tuition. Because without the tutoring, no one manages to get to the University or the Polytechnic, except maybe a few exceptions.
But what we have to say to the children, so that they do not get disappointed, if they do not succeed, is that their life and progress, or much more their happiness, are not determined by the Panhellenic exams. Opportunities to learn things, to acquire knowledge, to change profession, exist throughout our lives. Especially in our day, knowledge never stops and we are forced to constantly learn new things. Also, in our lives we must have choices and not be trapped in a situation like: this or nothing. A young person who starts his life and every choice is possible, should not deprive himself of the opportunity and the right to choose and change his mind about the profession he will follow, when for some reason, he fails to do what he had originally thought.
There are many opportunities in life, not just one, many possibilities and several options, if we have the mood and the will to look for what suits us and get it. It is a great pity that the young children, who have their whole life ahead of them, are trapped in the dilemma: University or nothing. After all, in our lives we give daily exams with our behavior and choices and this never stops.

Esami Panellenici
Chiunque abbia terminato la scuola in Grecia ha sperimentato, non solo se stesso, ma anche la sua famiglia, l’ istituzione degli esami panellenici. Anche coloro che non hanno sostenuto l’ esame sono stati influenzati in una certa misura, anche se indirettamente, dall’ atmosfera dell’ esame.
Dalle prime classi della scuola elementare, il sogno di ogni studente, ma anche dei suoi genitori, è crescere e andare all’ Università. La scuola greca è infatti strutturata in modo tale che l’ ammissione dello studente all’ Università o al Politecnico sia una strada a senso unico, non essendovi corrispondenti scuole di educazione tecnica riconosciute in vari campi, dove gli studenti possano studiare e avere un laurea che fornirà loro la riabilitazione professionale.
In questo modo, gli studenti greci sono ansiosi e agonizzanti ogni estate per gli esami che garantiranno loro il titolo di studente, in modo da premiare i loro sforzi e quelli dei loro genitori, che hanno pagato, per almeno tre anni, il liceo, un un sacco di soldi in tasse scolastiche. Perché senza il tutoraggio nessuno riesce ad arrivare all’ Università o al Politecnico, tranne qualche eccezione.
Ma quello che bisogna dire ai ragazzi, per non rimanere delusi, se non ci riescono, è che la loro vita e il loro progresso, o molto più la loro felicità, non sono determinati dagli esami panellenici. Le opportunità per imparare cose, per acquisire conoscenze, per cambiare professione, esistono per tutta la vita. Soprattutto nel nostro tempo, la conoscenza non si ferma mai e siamo costretti ad imparare costantemente cose nuove. Inoltre, nella nostra vita dobbiamo avere delle scelte e non essere intrappolati in una situazione come: questo o niente.
Un giovane che inizia la sua vita e ogni scelta è possibile, non dovrebbe privarsi dell’ opportunità e del diritto di scegliere e cambiare idea sulla professione che svolgerà, quando per qualche motivo, non riuscirà a fare ciò che inizialmente pensava.
Ci sono molte opportunità nella vita, non solo una, molte possibilità e diverse opzioni, se abbiamo l’ umore e la volontà di cercare ciò che fa per noi e ottenerlo. È un vero peccato che i ragazzi, che hanno tutta la vita davanti a loro, siano intrappolati nel dilemma: Università o niente. Inoltre, nella nostra vita diamo esami quotidiani con i nostri comportamenti e le nostre scelte e questo non si ferma mai.

Το ελληνικό καλοκαίρι
Η πιο όμορφη εποχή για εμένα είναι το καλοκαίρι. Το καλοκαίρι στην Ελλάδα είναι υπέροχο και όλοι οι Έλληνες το περιμένουν με ανυπομονησία και χαρά, για να κλείσουν τα σχολεία, να πάρουν άδεια από τη δουλειά τους και να πάνε διακοπές. Έτσι, νοικιάζουν για μερικές μέρες ένα δωμάτιο σε ξενοδοχείο ή σε κάποιο ενοικιαζόμενο σπίτι, άλλοι πηγαίνουν στο χωριό τους, στον τόπο καταγωγής τους, στους γονείς τους, στους φίλους τους, στους κουμπάρους τους ή στους συγγενείς τους.
Εκείνο που σχεδόν όλοι αναζητούν, είναι η θάλασσα. Μικροί και μεγάλοι ξεχύνονται στις παραλίες, για να κολυμπήσουν για ώρες στα δροσερά και καταγάλανα νερά της. Η θάλασσα μάς αναζωογονεί, μας δημιουργεί ευεξία και χαρά, μας δροσίζει, μας χαλαρώνει και μας ξεκουράζει. Η πρόσβαση στην παραλία συνοδεύεται πάντα από έναν καφέ σε πλαστικό ποτήρι: φραπέ, φρέντο καπουτσίνο , φρέντο εσπρέσσο. Την τιμητική τους έχουν επίσης τα παγωτά, οι μπύρες και τα αναψυκτικά.
Τα αντηλιακά είναι απαραίτητο αξεσουάρ, όπως επίσης τα κουβαδάκια με τα φτυαράκια, οι μπάλες, οι ρακέτες, οι μάσκες και τα βατραχοπέδιλα. Τα παιδιά φτιάχνουν τα κάστρα των ονείρων τους, τα οποία μετά από λίγο συνήθως καταστρέφονται από τα πόδια κάποιου θυμωμένου παιδιού, για να εκδικηθεί τον φίλο του στο παιχνίδι ή μπορεί να ισοπεδώνονται από τα κύματα της θάλασσας.
Τα μπαράκια στην παραλία, γεμίζουν κυρίως από έφηβους και νέους που θέλουν να διασκεδάσουν με τους φίλους τους ή να κάνουν νέες γνωριμίες. Η καλοκαιρινή μουσική που ακούγεται από τα μεγάφωνα, δημιουργεί χαρούμενη διάθεση και οι ρυθμοί γίνονται πιο χαλαροί. Κάποιοι άλλοι προτιμούν τα ουζερί με τους μεζέδες, για να τους ανοίξει η όρεξη για το μεσημεριανό φαγητό.
Το καλοκαίρι ακόμη και το ντύσιμο είναι πιο ανάλαφρο και πολλές φορές περιττό, αφού μπορείς να κυκλοφορείς όλη τη μέρα με το μαγιό σου και ξυπόλητος πάνω στην άμμο, χωρίς να σε νοιάζει αν θα λερώσεις τα ρούχα σου ή αν πρέπει να τα αλλάξεις για να κάνεις κάτι άλλο ή να πας κάπου αλλού.
Η ανεμελιά και η ευεξία που νιώθουμε το καλοκαίρι κοντά στη θάλασσα, αποτελεί μία σημαντική πηγή θετικής ενέργειας, που αποθηκεύουμε ως πολύτιμο εφόδιο για τις υπόλοιπες μέρες που θα ακολουθήσουν, όταν θα ανοίξουν ξανά τα σχολεία, οι εργαζόμενοι θα πάνε στη δουλειά τους και όλοι θα επιστρέψουν στις καθημερινές τους ασχολίες.

The Greek summer
The most beautiful season for me is summer. The summer in Greece is wonderful and all Greeks are looking forward to it, to close schools, to take time off work and to go on vacation. So, they rent a room in a hotel or a rented house for a few days, others go to their village, their place of origin, their parents, their friends, their best men or their relatives.
What almost everyone is looking for is the sea. Young and old are poured out on the beaches to swim for hours in its cool and clear blue waters. The sea revives us, creates our well-being and joy, cools us, relaxes and rests us. Access to the beach is always accompanied by a coffee in a plastic cup: frappe, freddo cappuccino, freddo espresso. Ice creams, beers and soft drinks also have their place of honor.
Sunscreens are essential accessories, as well as buckets with shovels, balls, rackets, masks and flippers. Children make the castles of their dreams, which after a while are usually destroyed by the feet of an angry child, to avenge his friend in the game or may be leveled by the waves of the sea.
The beach bars are full mainly of teenagers and young people who want to have fun with their friends or make new acquaintances. The summer music that sounds from the loudspeakers, creates a happy mood and the rhythms become more relaxed. Others prefer the seafood taverns to whet their appetite for lunch.
In summer, even the clothes are lighter and often unnecessary, since you can walk around all day in your swimsuit and barefoot on the sand, without caring if you get your clothes dirty or if you have to change them to do something else or go somewhere else.
The carefreeness and well-being we feel in the summer near the sea, is an important source of positive energy, which we store as a valuable supply for the remaining days that will follow, when the schools reopen, the employees will go to work and everyone will return to their daily activities.

L’ estate greca
La stagione più bella per me è l’ estate. L’ estate in Grecia è meravigliosa e tutti i greci non vedono l’ ora di chiudere le scuole, di prendersi una pausa dal lavoro e di andare in vacanza. Quindi, affittano una stanza in un albergo o una casa in affitto per qualche giorno, altri vanno al loro villaggio, al loro luogo di origine, ai loro genitori, ai loro amici, ai loro testimoni o ai loro parenti.
Quello che quasi tutti cercano è il mare. Giovani e vecchi affollano le spiagge per nuotare per ore nelle fresche e limpide acque blu. Il mare ci rinvigorisce, crea il nostro benessere e gioia, ci rinfresca, ci rilassa e ci riposa. L’ accesso alla spiaggia è sempre accompagnato da un caffè in bicchiere di plastica: frappe, freddo cappuccino, freddo espresso. Anche gelati, birre e bibite hanno il loro posto d’ onore.
Le creme solari sono accessori indispensabili, così come i secchi con pale, le palline, le racchette, le maschere e le pinne. I bambini costruiscono i castelli dei loro sogni, che dopo un po’ vengono solitamente distrutti dai piedi di un bambino arrabbiato, per vendicare il suo amico nel gioco o possono essere livellati dalle onde del mare.
I bar sulla spiaggia sono pieni principalmente di adolescenti e giovani che vogliono divertirsi con i loro amici o fare nuove conoscenze. La musica estiva che si sente attraverso gli altoparlanti, crea un’ atmosfera allegra e i ritmi si fanno più rilassati. Alcuni preferiscono le taverne con i frutti di mare per aprire il loro appetito per il pranzo.
In estate, anche i vestiti sono più leggeri e spesso inutili, dato che puoi camminare tutto il giorno in costume da bagno ed a piedi nudi sulla sabbia, senza preoccuparti se ti sporchi i vestiti o se devi cambiarli per fare qualicos’ altro o andare da qualche altra parte.
La spensieratezza e il benessere che proviamo in estate vicino al mare, è un’ importante fonte di energia positiva, che immagazziniamo come riserva preziosa per i restanti giorni che seguiranno, quando riapriranno le scuole, i lavoratori andranno al loro lavoro e tutti torneranno alle loro attività quotidiane.

Τελείωσε το καλοκαίρι και ήρθε ο Σεπτέμβρης, ο πρώτος μήνας του φθινοπώρου. Παρόλαυτα, ο Σεπτέμβρης παραμένει ένας ιδιαίτερα ζεστός μήνας, γι’ αυτό και κάποιοι παίρνουν την άδεια τους αυτή την εποχή, για να κάνουν τα μπάνια τους στη θάλασσα με ησυχία και να απολαύσουν τις διακοπές τους.
Όμως, για τους περισσότερους ο Σεπτέμβρης είναι ο μήνας που επιστρέφουν στη δουλειά τους και τα σχολεία ανοίγουν. Όλα τα παιδιά ετοιμάζονται για να αγοράσουν τα σχολικά τους πράγματα: τσάντα, κασετίνα, μολύβια, γόμες, στιλό, τετράδια, μαρκαδόρους. Οι δάσκαλοι και οι καθηγητές πρέπει να παρουσιαστούν την πρώτη μέρα του μήνα στο σχολείο τους, για να αναλάβουν υπηρεσία. Έχουν περίπου δύο εβδομάδες για να προετοιμαστούν και να ξεκινήσουν τα μαθήματα για τη νέα σχολική χρονιά. Δάσκαλοι και μαθητές, πρέπει πάλι να προσαρμοστούν, να κοιμούνται πιο νωρίς το βράδυ, για να ξυπνήσουν νωρίς το πρωί, να πάνε στο σχολείο.
Τα παιδιά θα συναντήσουν τους συμμαθητές τους από την προηγούμενη χρονιά και θα αγωνιούν να μάθουν ποιοι θα είναι οι δάσκαλοί τους για τη φετινή χρονιά. Υπάρχουν όμως και εκείνα τα παιδιά που πηγαίνουν πρώτη φορά στο σχολείο ή αλλάζουν βαθμίδα εκπαίδευσης, οπότε είναι πάλι σαν να ξεκινάνε από την αρχή. Είναι τα πρωτάκια, που έχουν μεγαλύτερη αγωνία και περιέργεια και μερικές φορές και φόβο, γι’ αυτά που θα αντιμετωπίσουν και αν θα τα καταφέρουν. Είναι όμως και οι γονείς τους, που εύχονται και επιθυμούν να πάνε καλά τα παιδιά τους στο σχολείο και να είναι καλοί μαθητές. Και ενώ τα παιδιά κάποια στιγμή θα τελειώσουν όλες τις τάξεις του σχολείου και θα αποφοιτήσουν, οι παιδαγωγοί, οι δάσκαλοι και οι καθηγητές τους, δεν αποφοιτούν ποτέ. Κάθε χρόνο βρίσκονται στη θέση τους, μέσα στη σχολική τάξη και προσπαθούν να διδάξουν στους μαθητές τους, μικρούς και μεγάλους, γνώσεις, αλλά και αξίες της ζωής.
Έτσι λοιπόν και φέτος, μία καινούρια σχολική χρονιά αρχίζει!!!
Ας ευχηθούμε σε όλα τα παιδιά και σε όλους τους εκπαιδευτικούς, όλων των βαθμίδων, καλή και δημιουργική χρονιά, με δύναμη και υγεία!!!

L’ estate è finita ed è arrivato settembre, il primo mese d’ autunno. Tutto questo, il mese di settembre rimane un mese particolarmente caldo, perciò alcuni si prendono le ferie in questo momento, per rendere i loro bagni in mare tranquilli e godersi la vacanza.
Ma per la maggior parte, settembre è il mese in cui tornano al lavoro e aprono le scuole. Tutti i bambini si stanno preparando per acquistare il materiale scolastico: borsa, astuccio, matite, gomme, penne, quaderni, pennarelli. Gli insegnanti ed i professori devono presentarsi a scuola il primo giorno del mese per essere in servizio. Hanno circa due settimane per preparare ed iniziare le lezioni per il nuovo anno scolastico. Insegnanti e studenti, ancora una volta, devono adattarsi, andare a letto presto la sera, svegliarsi presto la mattina, andare a scuola.
I bambini incontreranno i loro compagni di classe dell’ anno scorso e saranno ansiosi di scoprire chi saranno i loro insegnanti per quest’ anno. Ma ci sono anche quei bambini che vanno a scuola per la prima volta o cambiano livello di istruzione, quindi è di nuovo come ricominciare dall’ inizio. Sono i bambini della prima classe che hanno più ansia e curiosità e talvolta paura, per quello che dovranno affrontare e se ce la faranno. Ma sono anche i loro genitori che desiderano e vogliono che i loro figli vadano bene a scuola e siano buoni studenti.
E mentre i ragazzi a un certo punto finiranno tutte le classi scolastiche e si diplomeranno, i loro educatori, insegnanti e professori non si diplomeranno mai. Ogni anno sono al loro posto, in classe e cercano di insegnare ai loro studenti, piccoli e grandi, le conoscenze, ma anche i valori della vita.
Allora, anche quest’ anno inizia un nuovo anno scolastico!!!
Auguriamo a tutti i bambini ed a tutti gli insegnanti, di tutti i livelli, un anno buono e creativo, con forza e salute!!! Buon inizio!!!

Πλησιάζει ο χειμώνας!
Βρισκόμαστε στον τελευταίο μήνα του φθινοπώρου και σε λίγο θα έρθει ο χειμώνας. Η διάρκεια της ημέρας έχει μικρύνει αισθητά και τώρα νυχτώνει γύρω στις πέντε το απόγευμα. Η νύχτα, που ξεκινάει πολύ νωρίς, σου δημιουργεί ένα αίσθημα κούρασης και νύστας, σε προετοιμάζει να χαλαρώσεις τους έντονους ρυθμούς και να ξαπλώσεις για να ξεκουραστείς. Βέβαια αυτό δεν είναι τις περισσότερες φορές εφικτό και έτσι προσπαθείς να συνεχίσεις για να τελειώσεις τις εργασίες σου, έστω και αν το σκοτάδι που απλώνεται γύρω σου, σε προκαλεί να τα παρατήσεις όλα και να πας να κοιμηθείς.
Ο καιρός αλλάζει και μαζί και η διάθεσή μας. Κάνει κρύο περισσότερο νωρίς το πρωί και το βράδυ. Στα ορεινά μέρη της Ελλάδας, έχουν ήδη ανάψει τις σόμπες, τα τζάκια και τα καλοριφέρ. Τα ρούχα που φοράμε είναι μάλλινα και όλοι προσπαθούμε να ζεσταθούμε. Ο χειμώνας και το κρύο περιορίζουν τις κινήσεις μας και μας αναγκάζουν να κλεινόμαστε πιο πολύ στον εαυτό μας. Οι μετακινήσεις γίνονται με λιγότερη ευκολία, είτε εξαιτίας του καιρού ή της επιθυμίας μας να μείνουμε στο σπίτι.
Το καλό είναι ότι στη χώρα μας ο ήλιος δεν μας εγκαταλείπει σχεδόν ποτέ, όλη τη διάρκεια του χρόνου. Έτσι, μόλις εμφανιστεί στον ουρανό, μάς κάνει χαρούμενους και με έναν μαγικό τρόπο, βρίσκουμε χρόνο για έναν καφέ στην πλατεία της γειτονιάς μας ή κοντά στον χώρο της δουλειάς μας.
Παρόλαυτα, ο χειμώνας μάς ανταμείβει για την υπομονή και την αντοχή μας, με τις γιορτές των Χριστουγέννων και της Πρωτοχρονιάς που όλοι περιμένουμε, για να ξεκουραστούμε και να χαρούμε. Κάθε εποχή είναι διαφορετική και όλα ακολουθούν τον κύκλο της ζωής. Καλό χειμώνα να έχουμε και να αντέξουμε το κρύο και τις προκλήσεις και αυτής της εποχής που έρχεται!

Winter is approaching
We are in the last month of autumn and winter will come soon. The length of the day has shortened considerably and now it is getting dark around five o’clock in the afternoon. The night, which starts very early, creates a feeling of tiredness and sleepiness, prepares you to relax the intense rhythms and lie down to rest. Of course this is not possible most of the time and so you try to continue to finish your work, even if the darkness that spreads around you, challenges you to give up everything and go to sleep.
The weather changes and with it our mood. It gets cold more early in the morning and in the evening. In the mountainous parts of Greece, stoves, fireplaces and radiators have already been lit. The clothes we wear are woollen and we all try to keep warm. Winter and cold restrict our movements and force us to be more closed to ourselves. Transportation is less easy, either because of the weather or our desire to stay home.
The good news is that in our country the sun almost never leaves us, all year round. So, as soon as it appears in the sky, it makes us happy and in a magical way, we find time for a coffee in the square of our neighborhood or near our place of work.
Nevertheless, winter rewards us for our patience and endurance, with the Christmas and New Year celebrations we all look forward to, to rest and rejoice. Every season is different and everything follows the cycle of life. Have a good winter and endure the cold and the challenges of this season that comes as well!

Siamo nell’ ultimo mese d’ autunno e l’ inverno arriverà presto. La durata della giornata si è notevolmente accorciata e ora si sta facendo buio verso le cinque del pomeriggio. La notte, che inizia molto presto, crea una sensazione di stanchezza e sonnolenza, ti prepara a rilassare i ritmi intensi ed a sdraiarti per riposare. Ovviamente questo non è possibile il più delle volte e quindi cerchi di continuare a finire il tuo lavoro, anche se il buio che si diffonde intorno a te, ti sfida a rinunciare a tutto ed andare a dormire.
Il tempo cambia ed insieme il nostro umore. Fa più freddo la mattina presto e la sera. Nelle zone montuose della Grecia sono già state accese stufe, caminetti e caloriferi. I vestiti che indossiamo sono di lana e tutti cerchiamo di riscaldarci. L’ inverno e il freddo limitano i nostri movimenti e ci costringono ad essere più chiusi a noi stessi. Il trasporto è meno facile, o per il tempo o per la nostra voglia di restare a casa.
La buona notizia è che nel nostro paese il sole non ci lascia quasi mai, tutto l’anno. Così, appena appare in cielo, ci rende felici e in modo magico, troviamo il tempo per un caffè nella piazza del nostro quartiere o vicino al nostro luogo di lavoro.
Tuttavia, l’ inverno ci premia per la nostra pazienza e resistenza, con le celebrazioni di Natale e Capodanno che tutti aspettiamo di riposare e di gioire. Ogni stagione è diversa e tutto segue il ciclo della vita. Buon inverno e sopportiamo il freddo e le sfide anche di questa stagione che arriva!

Κάλαντα Χριστουγέννων και Πρωτοχρονιάς
Την παραμονή των Χριστουγέννων και της Πρωτοχρονιάς, τα παιδιά λένε τα κάλαντα από σπίτι σε σπίτι, στην οικογένειά τους, στους συγγενείς τους, σε φίλους και γνωστούς, στη γειτονιά τους.
Για το σκοπό αυτό, ξυπνάνε πολύ νωρίς, για να προλάβουν τους άλλους καλαντιστές και να πάρουν περισσότερα χρήματα, γιατί όσο περνάνε οι ώρες προς το μεσημέρι, οι περισσότεροι άνθρωποι έχουν ακούσει ήδη πολλές φορές τα κάλαντα, και δεν θέλουν να τα ξανακούσουν ή δεν έχουν άλλα χρήματα για να προσφέρουν ή και τα δύο.
Μόλις μεσημεριάσει, τα χρήματα μοιράζονται σε ίσα μέρη, όσα και τα παιδιά που τραγούδησαν και ο καθένας παίρνει το μερίδιό του.
Όταν ήμουνα παιδί και έλεγα κι εγώ τα κάλαντα, με τα χρήματα που μάζευα, πήγαινα και αγόραζα παιχνίδια. Στο κέντρο της πόλης μου, υπήρχε ένα πολύ ωραίο μαγαζί που πουλούσε παιχνίδια και εκεί έπαιρνα με τα δικά μου χρήματα, τα δώρα που ήθελα. Παλαιότερα, που οι άνθρωποι ήταν πιο φτωχοί, δεν έδιναν χρήματα στα παιδιά που έλεγαν τα κάλαντα, αλλά γλυκά, φρούτα και ξηρούς καρπούς.
Κάθε τόπος έχει τα δικά του κάλαντα, που αν και μπορεί να μοιάζουν στα λόγια, διαφέρουν όμως στη μουσική. Ανάλογα με τη μουσική παράδοση του κάθε τόπου, είναι και η μουσική για τα κάλαντα των Χριστουγέννων και της Πρωτοχρονιάς. Βέβαια, υπάρχουν και τα κάλαντα των Φώτων, αλλά αυτά δεν ακούγονται τόσο συχνά, καθώς δεν τα γνωρίζουν τα πιο πολλά παιδιά.
Τα τραγούδια για τα κάλαντα μιλάνε για τη γέννηση του Χριστού και τον Άγιο Βασίλη και σκοπό έχουν να χαροποιήσουν τους ανθρώπους και να μεταφέρουν μηνύματα αγάπης, ελπίδας, ευτυχίας, υγείας, καλοτυχίας, μακροημέρευσης και χαράς.
Οι άνθρωποι πάντα ελπίζουν και εύχονται η καινούρια χρονιά να είναι καλύτερη από την προηγούμενη και θέλουν, όσα δεν κατάφεραν να αποκτήσουν μέχρι τώρα, να τα πραγματοποιήσουν μέσα στην καινούρια χρονιά.
Φυσικά, εκείνο που όλοι επιθυμούν πάνω απ’ όλα, είναι να έχουν υγεία οι ίδιοι και τα αγαπημένα τους πρόσωπα και μετά να αποκτήσουν όλα εκείνα που θα τους κάνουν να αισθανθούν χαρούμενοι και ευτυχισμένοι.
Ας ευχηθούμε λοιπόν η φετινή χρονιά, το 2022, να είναι καλύτερη από την περσινή και ο καθένας από εμάς να έχει υγεία και να εκπληρώσει τους προσωπικούς του στόχους.

Christmas and New Year carols
On Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, children sing carols from house to house, to their family, to their relatives, to friends and acquaintances, to their neighborhood.
To this end, they wake up very early, to catch up with the other carol singers and get more money, because as the hours go by at noon, most people have already heard the carols many times, and do not want to hear them again or have not other money to offer or both.
Αs soon as noon comes, the money is divided equally among the children who sang and everyone gets his share.
When I was a child and I used to sing carols, with the money I collected, I would go and buy toys. In the center of my city, there was a very nice shop that sold toys and there I got with my own money, the gifts I wanted. In the past, when people were poorer, they did not give money to children who sang carols, but sweets, fruits and nuts.
Each place has its own carols, which although they may look similar in terms of words but differ in music. Depending on the musical tradition of each place, there is also music for Christmas and New Year carols. Of course, there are carols of the Epiphany , but they are not heard so often, as most children do not know them.
The songs about the carols talk about the birth of Christ and Santa Claus and are intended to make people happy and to convey messages of love, hope, happiness, health, good luck, longevity and joy.
People always hope and wish the new year to be better than the previous one and they want what they have not managed to achieve so far, to realize in the new year.
Of course, what everyone wants above all is to have health of themselves and their loved ones and then to have everything that will make them cheerful and happy.
So let us hope this year, 2022, is better than last year and that each of us is healthy and fulfills his personal goals.

Canti di Natale e Capodanno
Alla vigilia di Natale e a Capodanno, i bambini cantano canti natalizi di casa in casa, alla loro famiglia, ai loro parenti, agli amici e conoscenti, al loro vicinato.
A tal fine, si svegliano molto presto, per raggiungere gli altri cantanti e guadagnare più soldi, perché con il passare delle ore a mezzogiorno, la maggior parte delle persone ha già ascoltato i canti natalizi molte volte e non vuole ascoltarli di nuovo o non hanno altri soldi da offrire o entrambi.
Non appena arriva mezzogiorno, il denaro viene diviso in parti uguali, tanto quanto i bambini che hanno cantato e tutti ottengono la loro parte.
Quando ero bambina e cantavo canti natalizi, con i soldi che raccoglievo andavo a comprare dei giocattoli. Nel centro della mia città c’ era un negozio molto carino che vendeva giocattoli e lì ho preso con i miei soldi i regali che volevo. In passato, quando le persone erano più povere, non davano soldi ai bambini che cantavano canti natalizi, ma dolci, frutta e noci.
Ogni luogo ha i suoi canti, che sebbene possano sembrare simili nelle parole, ma differiscono nella musica. A seconda della tradizione musicale di ogni luogo, c’ è anche musica per i canti di Natale e Capodanno. Naturalmente, ci sono anche i canti dell’ Epifania, ma questi non vengono ascoltati così spesso, poiché la maggior parte dei bambini non li conosce.
Le canzoni sui canti natalizi parlano della nascita di Cristo e di Babbo Natale e hanno lo scopo di rendere felici le persone e trasmettere messaggi di amore, speranza, felicità, salute, buona fortuna, longevità e gioia.
Le persone sperano e desiderano sempre che il nuovo anno sia migliore di quello precedente e vogliono quello che non sono riusciti a ottenere finora, da realizzare nel nuovo anno.
Certo, ciò che tutti vogliono prima di tutto è avere la salute di se stessi e dei propri cari e quindi avere tutto ciò che li farà sentire felici e contenti.
Allora speriamo che quest’ anno, il 2022, sia migliore dell’ anno scorso e che ognuno di noi abbia salute e raggiunga i propri obiettivi personali.

Ένα καλό βιβλίο…
Πολλές φορές οι αναγνώστες αναρωτιούνται ποιο είναι το καλό βιβλίο ή αν αυτό που διαβάζουν είναι το κατάλληλο για να τους βοηθήσει να γίνουν καλύτεροι άνθρωποι. Κάποιοι άλλοι έχουν προτίμηση σε συγκεκριμένου είδους και ύφους βιβλία, με αποτέλεσμα να απορρίπτουν όλα τα υπόλοιπα.
Υπάρχουν πολλά είδη βιβλίων, ανάλογα με το περιεχόμενο τους και το σκοπό για τον οποίο έχουν γραφτεί: βιβλία επιστημονικά, ιατρικής, ιστορικά, ψυχολογίας, τέχνης και γενικά εξειδικευμένα σε κάποιο επιστημονικό πεδίο. Υπάρχουν και τα βιβλία της λογοτεχνίας, τα μυθιστορήματα, τα διηγήματα, οι νουβέλες, τα αστυνομικά, της επιστημονικής φαντασίας, αλλά και βιβλία ποίησης.
Τα βιβλία συνήθως επιλέγονται και διαβάζονται ανάλογα με τις ανάγκες και τα ενδιαφέροντα του αναγνώστη. Έτσι για παράδειγμα ένας γιατρός θα διαβάζει ιατρικά βιβλία, ένα δάσκαλος παιδαγωγικά, ένας δικηγόρος νομικά και κάπως έτσι ο κάθε επαγγελματίας θα αναζητά τις γνώσεις και την ενημέρωση του τομέα που τον ενδιαφέρει. Παρόλαυτα, ένα βιβλίο έχει σχέση και με την εποχή που διαβάζεται καθώς και με την συναισθηματική ανάγκη του αναγνώστη. Γι’ αυτόν τον λόγο είναι παρατηρημένο ότι το καλοκαίρι που οι άνθρωποι βρίσκονται σε διακοπές και είναι πιο χαλαροί, προτιμούν κυρίως ευχάριστα βιβλία, ως προς το περιεχόμενο και τις νοητικές απαιτήσεις, με σκοπό να ξεκουραστούν και να νιώσουν όμορφα και χαρούμενα. Τότε είναι λογικό, κάποιος που έχει κουραστεί από τη δουλειά του, να θέλει στον ελεύθερο χρόνο του να χαλαρώσει και να διαβάσει κάτι που θα τον συγκινήσει ή θα του δημιουργήσει θετικά συναισθήματα.
Με τον ίδιο τρόπο, ένα περιοδικό, ένα κόμικ, ένα παιδικό βιβλίο ή ακόμα και ένα παραμύθι, μπορεί να προκαλέσει το ενδιαφέρον ενός ενήλικα, όχι μόνο για το ευχάριστο περιεχόμενο του, αλλά και για τις εικόνες του, αν ο ίδιος ζωγραφίζει.
Επομένως, ένα καλό βιβλίο είναι εκείνο που ικανοποιεί και ανταποκρίνεται στις πνευματικές, επαγγελματικές, αλλά και συναισθηματικές μας ανάγκες και ενδιαφέροντα. Όταν μας κάνει συντροφιά, μας ταξιδεύει και μας ψυχαγωγεί, χωρίς εισιτήριο, όποτε το θελήσουμε και με ασφάλεια, σε κόσμους αληθινούς αλλά και φανταστικούς.

A good book …
Many times readers wonder what the good book is or if what they are reading is the right one to help them become better people. Others have a preference for books of a certain type and style, so they reject all the rest.
There are many types of books, depending on their content and the purpose for which they were written: science, medicine, history, psychology, art, and generally specialized books in a scientific field. There are also books of literature, novels, short novels, short stories, detective stories, science fiction, but also books of poetry.
Books are usually selected and read according to the needs and interests of the reader. For example, a doctor will read medical books, a teacher a pedagogue, a lawyer a low book and somehow every professional will seek knowledge and information in the field that interests him. Nevertheless, a book has to do with the time being read as well as the emotional need of the reader. For this reason it is observed that in the summer when people are on vacation and are more relaxed, they prefer mainly pleasant books, in terms of content and mental requirements, in order to relax and feel good and happy. Then it makes sense for someone who is tired of his work, to want in his free time to relax and read something that will move him or create positive emotions.
In the same way, a magazine, a comic, a children’s book or even a fairy tale, can arouse the interest of an adult, not only for its enjoyable content, but also for its images, if he paints himself.
Therefore, a good book is the one that satisfies and responds to our spiritual, professional, but also emotional needs and interests. When it accompanies us, it travels and entertains us, without a ticket, whenever we want and safely, in real but also imaginary worlds.

Un buon libro …
Molte volte i lettori si chiedono quale sia il buon libro o se quello che stanno leggendo sia quello giusto per aiutarli a diventare persone migliori. Altri preferiscono libri di un certo tipo e stile, quindi respingono tutto il resto.
Esistono molti tipi di libri, a seconda del loro contenuto e dello scopo per cui sono stati scritti: scienza, medicina, storia, psicologia, arte e in genere libri specializzati in un campo scientifico. Ci sono anche libri di letteratura, romanzi, racconti, novelle, gialli, fantascienza, ma anche libri di poesia.
I libri vengono generalmente selezionati e letti in base alle esigenze e agli interessi del lettore. Ad esempio, un medico leggerà libri di medicina, un insegnante un pedagogico, un avvocato un libro di legge e in qualche modo ogni professionista cercherà conoscenze e informazioni nel campo che gli interessa.
Tuttavia, un libro ha a che fare con il tempo che viene letto e con il bisogno emotivo del lettore. Per questo si osserva che in estate, quando le persone sono in vacanza e sono più rilassate, preferiscono principalmente libri piacevoli, in termini di contenuti e requisiti mentali, per potersi rilassare e sentirsi bene e felici. Allora ha senso per chi è stanco del proprio lavoro, volersi rilassare nel tempo libero e leggere qualcosa che lo commuovi o crei emozioni positive.
Allo stesso modo, una rivista, un fumetto, un libro per bambini o anche una favola, possono suscitare l’ interesse di un adulto, non solo per il suo piacevole contenuto, ma anche per le sue immagini, se si dipinge.
Pertanto, un buon libro è quello che soddisfa e risponde ai nostri bisogni e interessi spirituali, professionali, ma anche emotivi. Quando ci accompagna, ci viaggia e ci diverte, senza biglietto, quando vogliamo e in sicurezza, in mondi reali ma anche immaginari.

Χριστούγεννα στην πόλη και Πάσχα στο χωριό!
Έφτασε και φέτος η Μεγάλη Εβδομάδα. Σε λίγες ημέρες θα γιορτάσουμε το Πάσχα, μία από τις μεγαλύτερες γιορτές της Χριστιανοσύνης.
Μετά από έναν δύσκολο και βαρύ χειμώνα, όλοι περιμένουν τις ημέρες του Πάσχα να γιορτάσουν, να αλλάξουν διάθεση και να χαρούν.
Τα σχολεία έχουν κλείσει, δάσκαλοι και μαθητές σταματάνε τα μαθήματα και χαλαρώνουν τους εντατικούς ρυθμούς της διδασκαλίας για να ξεκουραστούν και να συνεχίσουν ξανά τα μαθήματα μετά το Πάσχα, μέχρι το τέλος της σχολικής χρονιάς. Κάποιοι εργαζόμενοι παίρνουν άδεια και άλλοι δουλεύουν περισσότερο τις ημέρες αυτές, αφού αυτό επιβάλλει το επάγγελμά τους. Οι αργίες της γιορτής του Πάσχα, δίνουν σε όλους τη δυνατότητα να ξεκουραστούν, έστω και για λίγο.
Οι περισσότεροι άνθρωποι ετοιμάζονται να φύγουν για το χωριό τους, σε ορεινά ή παραθαλάσσια μέρη, σε κάποιο νησί, στο εξοχικό τους, στους γονείς τους ή κοντά στους φίλους τους. Πολλοί είναι και αυτοί που νοικιάζουν ένα δωμάτιο σε ξενοδοχείο ή σε σπίτι, προκειμένου να απολαύσουν το Πάσχα στην εξοχή. Η Αθήνα αδειάζει για μερικές μέρες, καθώς η γιορτή του Πάσχα είναι συνδυασμένη με τη φύση, με τα λουλούδια, με την άνοιξη.
Κάθε τόπος έχει τα δικά του πασχαλινά έθιμα, ενώ σε όλα τα μέρη της Ελλάδας ο στολισμός και η περιφορά του Επιταφίου έχει ιδιαίτερη σημασία, όχι μόνο θρησκευτική, καθώς οι κάτοικοι της κάθε περιοχής προσπαθούν να στολίσουν με τον πιο όμορφο τρόπο τον Επιτάφιο της ενορίας τους, ώστε να ξεχωρίσει. Το βράδυ του Μεγάλου Σαββάτου οι εκκλησίες γεμίζουν από κόσμο, που περιμένει να ακούσει το «Χριστός Ανέστη» για να ανάψει τη λαμπάδα του και να δώσει το φιλί της αγάπης. Στο γιορτινό τραπέζι η μαγειρίτσα έχει την τιμητική της και τα κόκκινα αυγά που τα τσουγκρίζουμε, για να δούμε ποιος θα είναι ο πιο δυνατός και ποιανού το αυγό θα σπάσει.
Την Κυριακή του Πάσχα στο πασχαλινό τραπέζι το κύριο φαγητό είναι το αρνί στη σούβλα και το κοκορέτσι, αρκεί να υπάρχει καλή παρέα και ένας έμπειρος ψήστης που θα ξέρει να ψήσει σωστά το κρέας και στην ώρα του.
Όπως και να το γιορτάσει ο καθένας, το Πάσχα σηματοδοτεί την αναγέννηση της φύσης, την καλοκαιρία, τη χαρά και την ελπίδα.
Χρόνια πολλά, καλή Ανάσταση και καλό Πάσχα σε όλους, με αγάπη και υγεία!

Christmas in the city and Easter in the village!
Holy Week has arrived this year as well. In a few days we will celebrate Easter, one of the biggest holidays of Christianity. After a difficult and heavy winter, everyone is waiting for Easter to celebrate, change their mood and rejoice.
Schools are closed, teachers and students stop classes and relax the intensive teaching rhythms to rest and resume classes after Easter, until the end of the school year. Some employees take leave and others work more these days, as this requires their profession. The holidays of Easter, give everyone the opportunity to rest, even for a while. Most people are preparing to leave for their village, in mountainous or coastal areas, on an island, in their cottage, with their parents or near their friends. There are many who rent a room in a hotel or at home, in order to enjoy Easter in the countryside. Athens is empty for a few days, as the celebration of Easter is combined with nature, with flowers, with spring.
Each place has its own Easter customs, while in all parts of Greece the decoration and procession of the Epitaph is of special importance, not only religious, as the inhabitants of each area try to decorate the Epitaph of their parish in the most beautiful way, so that it stands out. On the night of Holy Saturday the churches are filled with people, waiting to hear ‘Chris has risen’ to light his candle and give the kiss of love.
At the festive table, the magiritsa has her honor and the red eggs that we crack, to see who will be the strongest and whose egg will be broken.
On Easter Sunday at the Easter table the main food is the lamb on the spit and the kokoretsi, as long as there is good company and an experienced turnspit who will know how to cook the meat properly and on time.
No matter how everyone celebrates it, Easter marks the rebirth of nature, good weather, joy and hope.

Natale in città e Pasqua nel villaggio!
Anche quest’ anno è arrivata la Settimana Santa. Tra pochi giorni celebreremo la Pasqua, una delle feste più grandi della cristianità. Dopo un inverno difficile e pesante, tutti aspettano la Pasqua per festeggiare, cambiare umore e gioire.
Le scuole sono chiuse, insegnanti e studenti interrompono le lezioni e rilassano i ritmi didattici intensivi per riposarsi e riprendere le lezioni dopo Pasqua, fino alla fine dell’ anno scolastico. Alcuni lavoratori prendono congedo e altri lavorano di più in questi giorni, poiché ciò richiede la loro professione. Le vacanze di Pasqua, danno a tutti la possibilità di riposarsi, anche per un po’.
La maggior parte delle persone si prepara a partire per il proprio villaggio, in zone montuose o costiere, su un’ isola, nel proprio cottage, con i genitori o vicino ai loro amici. Sono molti quelli che affittano una stanza in albergo o a casa propria per godersi la Pasqua in campagna. Atene è vuota per alcuni giorni, poiché la celebrazione della Pasqua si unisce alla natura, ai fiori, alla primavera.
Ogni luogo ha le sue usanze pasquali, mentre in tutte le parti della Grecia la decorazione e la processione dell’ Epitaffio è di particolare importanza, non solo religiosa, poiché gli abitanti di ogni zona cercano di decorare l’ Epitaffio della loro parrocchia nel modo più bello, in modo che risalti.
Nella notte del Sabato Santo le chiese si riempiono di gente, in attesa di sentire ‘Cristo è risorto’ per accendere la sua candela e dare il bacio dell’ amore. Alla tavola festiva, la maghiritsa ha il suo onore e le uova rosse che rompiamo, per vedere chi sarà il più forte e quale uovo sarà rotto.
La domenica di Pasqua alla tavola di Pasqua il cibo principale è l’ agnello allo spiedo e il kokoretsi, purché ci sia buona compagnia e una persona esperta che gira l’ arrosto che sappia cucinare la carne in modo corretto e puntuale.
Non importa come tutti la celebrino, la Pasqua segna la rinascita della natura, del bel tempo, della gioia e della speranza.

Τα πανηγύρια του καλοκαιριού
Ένα από τα χαρακτηριστικά του καλοκαιριού στην Ελλάδα, είναι τα πολλά και διαφορετικά πανηγύρια που γίνονται σε όλα σχεδόν τα χωριά και τις πόλεις της, κοντά στη θάλασσα ή στα βουνά της. Το ελληνικό καλοκαίρι, με τις πολλές γιορτές του μέσα στον Ιούλιο και τον Αύγουστο μήνα, προσφέρεται για προσκύνημα στις εκκλησίες και τα εξωκλήσια που γιορτάζουν. Έτσι, ανάμεσα στις πολλές γιορτές έχουμε: των Αγίων Αναργύρων, της Αγίας Μαρίνας, του Προφήτη Ηλία, της Αγίας Παρασκευής, του Αγίου Παντελεήμονος, τη Μεταμόρφωση του Σωτήρος και το αποκορύφωμα του καλοκαιριού με την Κοίμηση της Θεοτόκου, τον Δεκαπενταύγουστο.
Οι άνθρωποι σε κάθε τόπο ανάλογα με τα έθιμα τους και τα τοπικά προϊόντα τους, τη μέρα της γιορτής, ετοιμάζουν φαγητό για τους ντόπιους και τους επισκέπτες σε μεγάλες κατσαρόλες (καζάνια), το οποίο προσφέρουν μετά το τέλος της εορτάσιμης λειτουργίας στην εκκλησία, αφού το ευλογήσει πρώτα ο ιερέας. Επίσης, στην πλατεία του χωριού ή σε κάποια ταβέρνα, συνήθως υπάρχει μουσικό συγκρότημα, με παραδοσιακά όργανα και τραγούδια, για να πάει ο κόσμος να διασκεδάσει και να χορέψει σε ένα γλέντι, που μπορεί να κρατήσει μέχρι τις πρώτες πρωινές ώρες. Η διάθεση των ανθρώπων που συμμετέχουν στο πανηγύρι είναι χαρούμενη, ξέγνοιαστη και χαλαρή, σε σχέση με τις υπόλοιπες απαιτητικές και εργάσιμες ημέρες του χρόνου. Γι’ αυτό το λόγο η έκφραση «είμαστε για τα πανηγύρια», που λέγεται με εύθυμη και περιπαικτική διάθεση ανάμεσα σε συγγενείς και φίλους, θέλει να τονίσει αυτή την ανεμελιά που μας χαρακτηρίζει, όταν βρισκόμαστε στο πανηγύρι και επομένως οι άλλοι, δεν πρέπει να μας παίρνουν στα σοβαρά και να μας εμπιστεύονται.
Τα τελευταία χρόνια, σε πολλά χωριά της Ελλάδας γίνονται γιορτές, σύμφωνα με τα προϊόντα που βγάζει ένας τόπος, είτε βρίσκεται στο βουνό, στον κάμπο ή στη θάλασσα. Έτσι έχουμε τη γιορτή του κρασιού, του σταφυλιού, του μελιού, της πατάτας, του σύκου, του κερασιού, του ροδάκινου, της μελιτζάνας, της σαρδέλας, του φιστικιού, του καλαμποκιού και πολλών άλλων.
Όπου και να βρισκόμαστε το καλοκαίρι στην Ελλάδα, αξίζει να συμμετέχουμε σε κάποιο πανηγύρι, να δοκιμάσουμε τα παραδοσιακά προϊόντα του τόπου που βρισκόμαστε, να χορέψουμε, να διασκεδάσουμε και να χαρούμε, μαζί με τους ανθρώπους που αγαπάμε.

Summer festivals
One of the characteristics of summer in Greece is the many and different festivals that take place in almost all its villages and towns, near the sea or in its mountains. The Greek summer, with its many festivals in July and August, offers a pilgrimage to the churches and chapels that are celebrating. Thus, among the many feasts we have: Saints Anargyri, Saint Marina, Prophet Elias, Saint Paraskevi, Saint Panteleimon, the Transfiguration of the Savior and the climax of the summer with the Dormition of the Virgin, on the fifteenth of August.
People in each place according to their customs and local products, on the day of the feast, prepare food for the locals and visitors in large pots (cauldrons), which they offer after the end of the festive service in the church, after the priest has blessed first. Also, in the village square or in some tavern, there is usually a music band, with traditional instruments and songs, so that people can go to have fun and dance in a feast that can last until the early hours of the morning. The mood of the people participating in the festival is happy, carefree and relaxed, compared to the other demanding and working days of the year. For this reason the expression ‘we are for the festivals’, which is said in a cheerful and playful mood among relatives and friends, wants to emphasize this carelessness that characterizes us when we are at the festival and therefore others should not take us seriously and trust us.
In recent years, in many villages of Greece there are celebrations, according to the products that a place produces, whether it is located in the mountains, the plains or the sea. So we have the feast of wine, grape, honey, potato, fig, cherry, peach, eggplant, sardine, pistachio, corn and many others.
Wherever we are in the summer in Greece, it is worth participating in a festival, trying the traditional products of the place we are, dancing, having fun and being happy, together with the people we love.

Feste estive
Una delle caratteristiche dell’ estate in Grecia sono le numerose e diverse feste che si svolgono in quasi tutti i suoi villaggi e paesi, vicino al mare o sulle sue montagne. L’ estate greca, con le sue numerose feste nei mesi di luglio e agosto, si offre per un pellegrinaggio alle chiese e cappelle che celebrano. Così, tra le tante feste abbiamo: i Santi Anargyri, Santa Marina, il Profeta Elia, San Paraskevi, San Panteleimon, la Trasfigurazione del Salvatore e il culmine dell’ estate con la Dormizione della Vergine, il 15 agosto.
Le persone in ogni luogo secondo i loro costumi e prodotti locali, il giorno della festa, preparano il cibo per i locali ed i visitatori in grandi pentole (calderoni), che offrono dopo la fine del servizio festivo in chiesa, dopo averlo benedetto prima dal sacerdote. Inoltre, nella piazza del paese o in qualche osteria, c’ è solitamente una banda musicale, con strumenti e canti tradizionali, in modo che le persone possano andare a divertirsi e ballare in una festa che può durare fino alle prime ore del mattino. L’ umore delle persone che partecipano al festival è allegro, spensierato e rilassato, rispetto alle altre giornate impegnative e lavorative dell’ anno. Per questo l’ espressione ‘siamo per le feste’, detta con umore allegro e giocoso tra parenti e amici, vuole sottolineare questa incuria che ci caratterizza, quando siamo al festival e quindi gli altri non dovrebbero prenderci sul serio e fidarsi di noi.
Negli ultimi anni, in molti paesi della Grecia ci sono feste, a seconda dei prodotti che un luogo produce, che si trovi in montagna, in pianura o al mare. Così abbiamo la festa del vino, dell’ uva, del miele, della patata, del fico, della ciliegia, della pesca, della melanzana, della sardina, del pistacchio, del mais e tanti altri.
Ovunque ci troviamo in estate in Grecia, vale la pena partecipare a un festival, provare i prodotti tradizionali del luogo in cui ci troviamo, ballare, divertirci e rallegrarci, insieme alle persone che amiamo.

Η βροχή
Την προηγούμενη Κυριακή, βρισκόμουν σε μία καφετέρια, στον λόφο μιας μεγάλης πόλης της Αθήνας, όταν ξαφνικά έπιασε μία δυνατή βροχή, μία καταιγίδα. Σε λίγα λεπτά είχε εξαφανιστεί η εικόνα όλης της Αθήνας, που απλωνόταν σαν χαλί κάτω από την καφετέρια και έξω από τα παράθυρα όλα είχαν γίνει άσπρα, σαν ομίχλη.
Ήταν κάτι ξεχωριστό και αρκετά ενδιαφέρον, που δεν το συναντάς συχνά μέσα στην πόλη γιατί το μέρος που βρισκόμουν είχε τριγύρω δέντρα και χαμηλή βλάστηση, σαν να βρισκόμουν στην εξοχή. Σκέφτηκα ότι δεν μου αρέσει να περπατάω στη βροχή και γενικότερα δεν μου αρέσει η κακοκαιρία και ο χειμώνας. Προτιμώ το καλοκαίρι, παρέα με τη θάλασσα.
Παρόλα αυτά, το μυαλό μου πήγε στα μέρη του Πηλίου τον χειμώνα, ένα μέρος που αγαπάω όλες τις εποχές του χρόνου. Έχει και η βροχή το μερίδιό της στις όμορφες αναμνήσεις μας!
Όλοι μέσα στην καφετέρια, κοίταζαν τα παράθυρα, κάποιοι τηλεφωνούσαν, όπως και εγώ. Πήρα τηλέφωνο την κόρη μου γιατί ανησυχούσα. Είχε βγει και εκείνη για καφέ. Ευτυχώς, όλα καλά!
Εκεί που καθόμασταν, το ταβάνι έσταζε νερό σε κάποια σημεία και προσέχαμε να μην βραχούμε. Γι’ αυτό τραβήξαμε τις καρέκλες μας, αν και η καφετέρια ήταν τεράστια και δεν υπήρχε ιδιαίτερο πρόβλημα. Όταν σταμάτησε μετά από λίγο να βρέχει, ένιωσα ανακούφιση. Επιτέλους ηρεμία!
«Μπόρα είναι, θα περάσει», είπε ο άντρας μου. Έτσι συμβαίνει και στη ζωή μας ή κάπως έτσι πρέπει να συμβαίνει. Κάνουμε υπομονή στις δυσκολίες και περιμένουμε τις καλύτερες ημέρες που θα έρθουν!

The rain
The previous Sunday, I was in a café, on the hill of a large city of Athens, when suddenly there was a heavy rain, a storm. In a few minutes, the image of all of Athens, spread out like a carpet under the café, had disappeared and everything outside the windows had turned white, like fog.
It was something special and quite interesting, which you don’t often find in the city because the place where I was, had trees around and low vegetation, as if I was in the countryside.
I thought that I don’t like walking in the rain and in general I don’t like bad weather and winter. I prefer summer, company with the sea.
However, my mind went to the parts of Pelion in winter, a place I love all seasons of the year.
The rain also has its share in our beautiful memories!
Everyone inside the café was looking at the windows, some people were making phone calls, just like me. I called my daughter because I was worried. She had also gone out for coffee. Fortunately everything was all right!
Where we were sitting, the ceiling was dripping water in some places and we were careful not to get wet. So we pulled out our chairs, although the café was huge and there was no particular problem.
When it stopped raining after a while, I was relieved. Finally calm!
“It’s storm but it will pass”, said my husband.
This is how it happens in our lives, or it should happen like this. We are patient with the difficulties and wait for the best days to come!

La pioggia
La domenica scorsa, ero in un caffè, sulla collina di una grande città di Atene, quando all’ improvviso una forte pioggia si è abbattuta, una tempesta. In pochi minuti l’ immagine di tutta Atene, che si stendeva come un tappeto sotto il caffè, era scomparsa e tutto fuori dalle finestre era diventato bianco, come nebbia.
Era qualcosa di particolare e piuttosto interessante, che non si trova spesso in città perché il luogo in cui mi trovavo era circondato da alberi e bassa vegetazione, come se fossi in campagna. Ho pensato che non mi piace camminare sotto la pioggia ed in generale non mi piace il maltempo e l’ inverno. Preferisco l’ estate, in compagnia del mare.
Tuttavia, la mia mente è andata alle parti di Pelion in inverno, un luogo che amo in tutte le stagioni dell’ anno. Anche la pioggia ha la sua parte nei nostri bei ricordi!
Tutti dentro il caffè guardavano le finestre, alcuni facevano telefonate, come me. Ho chiamato mia figlia perché ero preoccupata. Anche lei era uscita per un caffè. Fortunatamente, tutto bene!
Dove eravamo seduti, il soffitto gocciolava in alcuni punti e stavamo attenti a non bagnarci. Quindi abbiamo tirato le nostre sedie, anche se il caffè era enorme e non era un gran problema. Quando dopo un po’ smise di piovere, fui sollevata.
Finalmente calma!
«È una tempesta, passerà», ha detto mio marito. È così che succede nelle nostre vite, o dovrebbe succedere così. Siamo pazienti con le difficoltà ed aspettiamo i giorni migliori che verranno!

Τα βιβλία του καλοκαιριού
Διαβάζω βιβλία όλο τον χρόνο. Τα βιβλία τα αγαπώ, τα προσέχω, αποτελούν ένα μέρος του εαυτού μου, ακόμη και αν δεν τα έχω γράψει εγώ και δεν μπορώ να φανταστώ τη ζωή μου χωρίς αυτά.
Η αλήθεια είναι ότι έχω γεμίσει το σπίτι μου με βιβλία, τα οποία βρίσκονται παντού και είναι σίγουρο πως κάποια στιγμή δεν θα μπορώ να περάσω. Όμως εξακολουθώ να αγοράζω βιβλία σταθερά, τα οποία διαβάζω, χωρίς να με απασχολεί το πρόβλημα του χώρου που καταλαμβάνουν.
Κάθε καλοκαίρι λοιπόν, πριν ξεκινήσω για τις διακοπές μου, φροντίζω να παραγγείλω από το βιβλιοπωλείο της περιοχής μου δύο με τρία καινούρια βιβλία, αφού στο σπίτι έχω ήδη και κάποια που δεν τα έχω διαβάσει ακόμη.
Αλλά, δεν είναι μόνο αυτό. Στις στάσεις που κάνουμε με το αυτοκίνητο, για να πάμε στον προορισμό μας, βρίσκω πάντα όμορφα και πρωτότυπα βιβλία, που μου προκαλούν το ενδιαφέρον και έτσι αγοράζω αυτό που με ενδιαφέρει και μου αρέσει πιο πολύ.
Πολλές φορές όμως, στο μέρος των διακοπών μου, βρίσκω υπαίθρια βιβλιοπωλεία που έχουν βιβλία με διάφορα θέματα και για πολλά γούστα και έτσι βρίσκω και αγοράζω ένα βιβλίο και για εμένα.
Και φυσικά δεν μπορώ να ξεχάσω ένα μικρό και όμορφο βιβλιοπωλείο, εκεί που περνάω τις περισσότερες μέρες του καλοκαιριού, με έναν ευγενικό κύριο που είναι πάντα πρόθυμος να με εξυπηρετήσει και με διαβεβαιώνει κάθε φορά, ότι μπορώ να διαλέξω όποιο βιβλίο θέλω και εκείνος θα το παραγγείλει και θα μου το φέρει μέσα σε δύο με τρεις ημέρες.
Είμαι πολύ χαρούμενη που βρίσκω και το καλοκαίρι ενδιαφέροντα βιβλία στα μέρη των διακοπών μου, από ανθρώπους που αγαπούν το βιβλίο και φροντίζουν να υπάρχει προς πώληση, με τρόπο ευφάνταστο, αλλά και παραδοσιακό, σε κάθε καλοκαιρινό προορισμό.

Summer books
I read books all year round. I love books, I care about them, they are a part of me, even if I didn’t write them and I can’t imagine my life without them.
The truth is that I have filled my house with books, which are everywhere and it is certain that at some point I will not be able to pass. But I still buy books constantly , which I read, without worrying about the space they take up.
So every summer, before I go on vacation, I make sure to order two or three new books from my local bookstore, since I already have some at home that I haven’t read yet.
But that is not all. At the stops we make in the car, to go to our destination, I always find beautiful and original books, which arouse my interest and thus I buy what I am interested in and like the most.
Many times, however, at my holiday destination, I find outdoor bookstores that have books on various topics and for many tastes, so I find and buy a book for me too.
And of course I can not forget a small and beautiful bookstore, where I spend most of the summer days, with a kind gentleman who is always willing to serve me and assures me every time, that I can choose any book I want and he will order it and he will bring it to me in two or three days.
I am very happy to find interesting books in my holiday places in the summer as well, from people who love the book and make sure it is available for sale, in an imaginative, but also traditional way, in every summer destination.

Libri estivi
Leggo libri tutto l’ anno. Amo i libri, ci tengo, sono parte di me, anche se non li ho scritti io e non riesco a immaginare la mia vita senza di loro.
La verità è che ho riempito la mia casa di libri, che sono ovunque ed è certo che a un certo punto non riuscirò a passare. Ma continuo a comprare libri costantemente, che li leggo, senza preoccuparmi dello spazio che occupano.
Quindi ogni estate, prima di andare in vacanza, mi assicuro di ordinare due o tre nuovi libri dalla mia libreria locale, dato che ne ho già alcuni a casa che non ho ancora letto.
Ma non è tutto. Alle soste che facciamo in macchina, per andare alla nostra destinazione, trovo sempre libri belli e originali, che suscitano il mio interesse e quindi compro ciò che mi interessa e mi piace di più.
Molte volte però, nella meta delle mie vacanze, trovo librerie all’ aperto che hanno libri di vari argomenti e per tanti gusti, quindi trovo e compro un libro anche per me.
E ovviamente non posso dimenticare una piccola e bellissima libreria, dove trascorro la maggior parte delle giornate estive, con un signore gentile che è sempre disposto a servirmi e mi assicura ogni volta che posso scegliere qualsiasi libro che voglio e lui lo ordinerà e me lo porterà in due o tre giorni.
Sono molto felice di trovare libri interessanti nei miei luoghi di vacanza anche d’ estate, da persone che amano il libro e si assicurano che sia disponibile per la vendita, in modo fantasioso, ma anche tradizionale, in ogni destinazione estiva.

Αναζητώντας … WiFi
Κάθε καλοκαίρι, τα τελευταία χρόνια, αντιμετωπίζω το ίδιο πρόβλημα: δεν έχω WiFi για το laptop μου. Αυτό σημαίνει ότι κάτι πρέπει να σκεφτώ και να κάνω, για να βρω τη λύση. Το σκέφτηκα λοιπόν και τη βρήκα !
Πηγαίνω παρέα με το laptop μου σε καφετέριες, παραλιακά μπαράκια, ταβέρνες και εκεί αφού παραγγείλω, έχω δωρεάν WiFi. Στην αρχή οι θαμώνες με κοιτάνε με περιέργεια, αλλά μετά από λίγο το συνηθίζουν. Από εκεί, μπαίνω στο Facebook, βλέπω τα email μου, αλλά κάνω και διάφορες εργασίες που μπορεί να περιλαμβάνουν για παράδειγμα, κάποια τεστ σε σεμινάρια τα οποία παρακολουθώ.
Θυμάμαι μια φορά που ήμουνα με την κόρη μου στην καφετέρια ενός καλοκαιρινού θέρετρου. Η κόρη μου είχε εκνευριστεί που δεν της έδινα σημασία και μου είπε:
«Αμάν ρε μαμά, παράτα αυτόν τον υπολογιστή, να μιλήσουμε λίγο!»
«Σταμάτα παιδί μου, της είπα μετά εγώ, τώρα κάνω τεστ, μη μου μιλάς!»
Μια άλλη φορά στην ταβέρνα ενός χωριού, αφού καθίσαμε και παραγγείλαμε, πήρα και το πολυπόθητο WiFi. Έβγαλα το laptop μου, το άνοιξα και συνδέθηκα. Σε λίγο, ανάμεσα στη σαλάτα, το κρέας, τη μπίρα και τις πατάτες, ήταν και το laptop μου και εγώ δούλευα κανονικά. Οι άλλοι με κοίταγαν με απορία, δεν ξέρω τι ακριβώς έλεγαν και δεν με ενδιέφερε. Εγώ έκανα τη δική μου δουλειά!
Τώρα που το σκέφτομαι καλύτερα, η αναζήτηση του WiFi στις διακοπές μου έχει και ένα καλό: βγαίνω έξω από το σπίτι, βλέπω καινούρια μέρη και συναντώ άλλους ανθρώπους. Ποιος είπε ότι η τεχνολογία μας απομονώνει και μας απομακρύνει από τους άλλους;
Μου έχει συμβεί μερικές φορές να μου μοιράζουν τα δεδομένα του internet για το κινητό μου, κάποιοι γνωστοί και φίλοι. Την τελευταία φορά μάλιστα ήταν σε ένα πανηγύρι. Γελάσαμε πολύ και περάσαμε τέλεια!
Η αναζήτηση WiFi στις διακοπές μου έχει μεγάλο ενδιαφέρον και μου προσφέρει ευχάριστες στιγμές, αφού συνδυάζεται με καινούριες και αξέχαστες εμπειρίες!

Looking for … WiFi
Every summer for the last few years, I face the same problem: I don’t have WiFi for my laptop. This means that I have to think and do something in order to find the solution. So I thought about it and I find it!
I go with my laptop to cafes, beach bars, taverns and there, after ordering, I have free WiFi. At first the frequenters look at me curiously, but after a while they get used to it. From there, I log into Facebook, check my emails, but also do various tasks that may include, for example, some tests in seminars that I attend.
I remember one time I was with my daughter in the cafeteria of a summer resort. My daughter was annoyed that I wasn’t paying attention to her and said:
“Oh mom, put that computer away, let’s talk for a while!” “Stop my child, I told her afterwards, I’m taking a test now, don’t talk to me!”
Another time in a village tavern, after we sat down and ordered, I also got the coveted WiFi. I took out my laptop, turned it on and I connected. Soon, among the salad, meat, beer and fries, there was my laptop and I was working normally. The others looked at me questioningly, I don’t know exactly what they were saying and I didn’t care. I was doing my job!
Now that I think about it, searching for WiFi on my vacation has one good side: I get out of the house, see new places and meet other people. Who said that technology isolates us and distances us from others?
It has happened to me a few times that some acquaintances and friends share the internet data for my mobile. The last time indeed it was at a fair. We laughed a lot and had a great time!
Searching for WiFi during my holidays is very interesting and gives me pleasant moments, since it is combined with new and unforgettable experiences!

Cercando … il WiFi
Ogni estate, da alcuni anni, mi trovo ad affrontare lo stesso problema: non ho il WiFi per il mio portatile. Ciò significa che devo pensare e fare qualcosa per trovare la soluzione. Così ci ho pensato e l’ ho trovata!
Vado con il mio portatile nelle caffetterie, nei bar sulla spiaggia, nelle taverne e lì, dopo aver ordinato, ho il WiFi gratuito. All’ inizio i frequentatori mi guardano incuriositi, ma dopo un po’ si abituano. Da lì accedo a Facebook, controllo le mie email, ma faccio anche diversi compiti che possono includere, per esempio, qualche test in seminari che frequento.
Ricordo una volta che ero con mia figlia in un caffè di un resort estivo. Mia figlia era arrabbiata perché non le prestavo attenzione e mi ha detto: “Oh mamma, lascia stare quel computer, possiamo parlare un attimo!” “Ferma, figlia mia, le ho detto io, ora faccio il test, non parlarmi!”
Un’ altra volta in una taverna del villaggio, dopo esserci seduti ed aver ordinato, ho ricevuto anche l’ agognato WiFi. Ho tirato fuori il mio portatile, l’ ho acceso e mi sono collegato. In poco tempo, tra l’ insalata, la carne, la birra e le patate, c’ era anche il mio portatile e io lavoravo normalmente. Gli altri mi guardavano con curiosità, non so esattamente cosa dicessero, e non mi interessava. Io facevo il mio lavoro!
Ora che ci penso, la ricerca del Wi-Fi durante le mie vacanze ha anche un lato positivo: esco di casa, vedo posti nuovi ed incontro altre persone. Chi ha detto che la tecnologia ci isola e ci allontana dagli altri?
Mi è capitato qualche volta che alcuni conoscenti e amici condividano i dati di internet del mio cellulare. L’ ultima volta era addirittura a una festa. Abbiamo riso tantissimo e ci siamo divertiti moltissimo!
Cercare il Wi-Fi durante le mie vacanze è di grande interesse e mi offre momenti piacevoli, poiché si combina con esperienze nuove e indimenticabili!

Το δώρο του Αϊ-Βασίλη
Τα περισσότερα παιδιά περιμένουν κάθε χρόνο την Πρωτοχρονιά, το δώρο που θα τους φέρει ο Αϊ-Βασίλης. Πολλά γράφουν γράμματα, στα οποία αναφέρουν με λεπτομέρειες το δώρο ή τα δώρα που θέλουν να τους φέρει. Κάποια αναρωτιούνται πώς προλαβαίνει ο Αϊ-Βασίλης και δίνει τα δώρα σε όλα τα παιδιά του κόσμου μέσα σε μία νύχτα. Είναι και μερικά παιδιά που δεν πιστεύουν ότι υπάρχει ο Άγιος Βασίλης γιατί απλά ξέρουν ότι τα δώρα τα φέρνουν οι γονείς τους.
Κάθε χρόνο στην τάξη μου γίνεται η ίδια συζήτηση.
- Κυρία, υπάρχει ο Αϊ-Βασίλης;
- Και βέβαια υπάρχει!
- Νάτο, το λέει και η κυρία!
- Τι λες, δεν υπάρχει! Οι γονείς φέρνουν τα δώρα!
- Κυρία, τελικά υπάρχει ή δεν υπάρχει ο
Αϊ- Βασίλης;
- Ο Αϊ-Βασίλης δεν ζει τώρα, αλλά υπάρχει το πνεύμα του. Όταν ζούσε μοίρασε όλη την περιουσία του στους φτωχούς, έτσι και εμείς σήμερα ανταλλάσσουμε δώρα στη μνήμη του. Είναι σαν να τα μοιράζει ο Αϊ-Βασίλης.
- Νάτο! Υπάρχει ο Αϊ-Βασίλης!
- Δεν υπάρχει, είναι ψέματα!
- Κυρία, εσείς πιστεύετε στον Άγιο Βασίλη;
- Φυσικά και πιστεύω και του έχω ζητήσει το δώρο μου και αλίμονό του αν δεν μου το φέρει!
- Τι δώρο του ζητήσατε, κυρία;
- Α, δεν μπορώ να σας πω! Εσείς ήσαστε καλά παιδιά όλο τον χρόνο;
- Ναι, ήμαστε.
- Γιατί αν δεν ήσαστε, ξέρετε τι δώρο θα σας φέρει ο Αϊ-Βασίλης!
- Τι κυρία;
- Ένα τσουβάλι κάρβουνα!
- Όχι, όχι!
Και εδώ πάντα όλα τα παιδιά και εγώ γελάμε μαζί.
Ας ευχηθούμε ο Άγιος Βασίλης να φέρει στον καθένα χωριστά και σε όλους μας, τα δώρα που περιμένουμε!

The gift of Santa Claus
Most children wait every year on New Year’s Eve, the gift that Santa Claus will bring them. Many write letters detailing the gift or gifts they want him to bring. Some wonder how Santa Claus manages to give gifts to all the children of the world in one night. There are some kids who don’t believe there’s Santa Claus because they just know the presents are brought by their parents.
Every year in my class, we have the same conversation.
- Madam, is there Santa Claus?
- Of course there is!
- Well, that’s what the madam says!
- What are you talking about, there isn’t!
The parents bring the presents!
- Finally, madam, does Santa Claus
really exist or not?
- Santa Claus is not alive now, but his
spirit exists. When he was alive he distributed all his wealth to the poor, so we today exchange gifts in his memory.
- There it is! There is Santa Claus!
- He doesn’t exist, it’s a lie!
- Madam, do you believe in Santa Claus?
- Of course I do, and I’ve asked him for my gift, and woe to him if he doesn’t bring it to me!
- What gift did you ask for, madam?
- Oh, I can’t tell you! Have you been good kids all year?
- Yes, we have.
- Because if you haven’t been, you know what gift Santa Claus will bring you!
- What madam?
- A sack of coals!
- No, no!
And always here all the children and I laugh together.
Let’s hope that Santa Claus brings to each of us separately and to all of us, the gifts we are waiting for!

Il regalo di Babbo Natale
La maggior parte dei bambini aspetta ogni anno il Capodanno il regalo che Babbo Natale porterà loro. Molti scrivono lettere descrivendo dettagliatamente il regalo o i regali che vogliono che lui li porti. Alcuni si chiedono come faccia Babbo Natale a dare i regali a tutti i bambini del mondo in una sola notte. Ci sono anche alcuni bambini che non credono all’ esistenza di Babbo Natale perché sanno semplicemente che i regali li portano i genitori.
Ogni anno nella mia classe, abbiamo la stessa conversazione.
- Signora, c’è Babbo Natale?
- Certo che c’è!
- Eccolo, lo dice la signora!
- Cosa dici, non c’è! I genitori portano i regali!
- Finalmente signora, c’è o non c’è Babbo Natale?
- Babbo Natale non è vivo adesso, ma il suo spirito esiste. Quando era in vita, ha distribuito tutti i suoi beni ai poveri, per questo oggi ci scambiamo regali in sua memoria. È come se Babbo Natale li distribuisse.
- Eccolo! C’è Babbo Natale!
- Non esiste, è una bugia!
- Signora, lei crede a Babbo Natale?
- Certo che ci credo e gli ho chiesto il mio regalo e guai a lui se non me lo porta!
- Che regalo gli ha chiesto, signora?
-Ah, non posso dirvelo! Voi siete stati bravi bambini tutto l’anno?
-Sì, siamo stati.
-Perché se non siete stati, sapete che regalo vi porterà Babbo Natale!
-Che cosa, signora?
- Un sacco di carbone!
-No, no!
E qui sempre io e tutti i bambini ridiamo insieme.
Speriamo che Babbo Natale porti a ciascuno di noi individualmente ed a tutti noi, i regali che aspettiamo!
